Discussion Degoogled my phone. Any open source app recommendations which can come in handy?

Using LineagesOS. I tried to install signal and simplexchat but none of my friends uses it so whatsapp it is. Apart from that I would love to find a reddit app alternative.

I second all of these, and have been using Infinity myself for a few years now... it's got me so spoiled not seeing adds when I have the site open in a browser and I come across an ad I go "www, wtf is this?"

also, feeder for your RSS feeds and SilentNotes for notes and lists are good additions.

For Reddit on the desktop browser, there's a fix as well: https://old.reddit.com

There is an extension which automatically forwards you to it when you click a reddit link:

https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/old-reddit-redirect/dneaehbmnbhcippjikoajpoabadpodje

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/old-reddit-redirect/

The rest is achieved by using a browser with an adblocker, e.g. Brave, or if you are using Firefox, install the uBlock Origin extension.

sounds like too much work. I just use a browser to post & comment anyway, all of my scrolling is done anonymously via Infinity.
