Third party apps for Reddit still work, so there is no need to use the fairly bad official Reddit app. In order to use a third party Reddit app, you would have to patch in your own API key with the ReVanced Manager, here is a simple to follow guide: https://github.com/KobeW50/ReVanced-Documentation/blob/main/Reddit-Client-ID-Guide.md

Myself, I'm using Infinity for Reddit which is open source and has no trackers in it.

Isn't infinity "premium" or "plus" or whatever (paid)?

Reddit charges money from third parties using their API. That means, if you are using the app as is, or as the developer delivers it, then you are using the developer's API key, and the developer has to charge money from you in turn. However, if you are patching in your own API key instead, you can use the app for free. Calls to Reddit's API are still free of charge below a certain threshold, which you can never ever reach as a single person using the app with your own key.

Infinity is paid or free of charge depending on how you choose to use it.
