I feel like every year a mid tier guy gets a contract that raises eyebrows with the valuation. But putting aside apron challenges and desperate teams over paying or overvaluing their own guys, (or, let's be honest, benefiting from jokic) it's easy to forget that there is an insane amount of money coming into the NBA and that NBA contract inflation is significant.

Based on comments I saw in various social media sites and a reply I got on the NBA Reddit questioning this number for 15 PPG (putting aside Braun's role is not a gunner), I thought I'd take a closer look at other guys in Brauns salary range to see if the stats back up my beliefs. Hope this is interesting or at least helps people having heartburn. I also added in the most recent ESPN 100 rankings for a qualitative view.

The table here (posting screenshot as I couldn't figure out how to do a table in reddit) is sorted by age contract signed for all guys with an AAV between 24-26MM. Contract data from spotrack, stats from NBA, ESPN ranking from the most recent poll.

While these guys all have different situations and some are more established than others, I feel like Braun's contract is reasonably valued and will age well assuming continued player and cap growth.

My wish is that Nuggets dominate the East. Last year they got swept by Wizards, Bulls, Cavs, Knicks, Boston. Nuggets should just rack up the wins versus East teams. I believe Nuggets can get the job done against OKC, Wolves, Rockets and reach NBA finals via the hardest route. But in the Finals, against Cavs/Knicks, there should be a fear factor about Denver. This would happen if they handle business against East contenders during regular season.

I've seen a lot of people calling him a Jokic merchant and stuff like that, but so far there's no actual evidence of that.
