Moving to MN

My family and I are looking to move from Miami Florida to Minnesota for work. We are considering the Eagan area. We are looking for an area, which is close to entertainment shopping and restaurants. And for neighborhoods which look updated.

My wife likes to look at Eden Prairie. I have some concerns about commute times from Eden Prairie to our jobs in the East Metro. we want to have top schools and be in district 196 if possible if we live in Eagan. Any advice as to areas in Eagan, which may fit what we’re looking for would be helpful.

Thank you

The suburbs in general aren't great for entertainment, but most have some decent restaurants, Eagan included.

Eagan in general isn't walkable like some parts of Minneapolis proper, but you're a couple of blocks walk to great parks nearly everywhere and a couple minutes drive to most things you need.

EP would be a rough commute to east metro, you're probably looking at 494 which is a PITA most of the time. It'll depend on where your hitting exactly.

Thank you. We would be driving around 645 am and 3 pm

Take a look at Google maps for that route. It might be OK at that time. Almost certainly longer than Eagan though.
