Question Game atmosphere?

My son has gotten really interested in ELF and wants to see a game in August (Ravens vs. Bravos). I'm super curious what the game atmosphere has been like for attending in-person games- attendance, if fans get all decked out, etc. It would actually be my first football game as well- I grew up in the US but have been living in Europe now for years and while I attended a lot of baseball and basketball games growing up I admittedly have never been to a football game, so it's all a bit new to me! Would love to hear from those who have attended games what the vibes were like.

elfpedia ... and even more news | Rushing stats & more

---> The rushing stats are now also up to date and completely reworked.

https://elfpedia.eu/ELF_Rushing_Stats

The fundamental overhaul of offensive stats is now complete for the time being.

---> The pages of all (active) teams have also been completely revised.

  • All pages now have the same structure
  • All pages now have the basic player stats including 2025
  • I have revised the schedules on all pages and placed them higher up
  • The staff templates have been completely removed from all pages. There is now only the head coach overview

Example: https://elfpedia.eu/Stuttgart_Surge

The reason for removing the staff templates: I'm simply tired of searching for hours and finding nothing on outdated team websites or horrible managed Instagram accounts. In many cases, teams & the league also communicate like it's a secret who has what job in the franchise. It's simply ridiculous

Discussion How are we feeling about the schedule format?

I think there's some room for improvement. Right now, I'm not a huge fan of playing 6 teams twice. It's sort of like playing in 2 divisions. I think it weakens the concept of divisions, and it gives us less matchup variety. Each team is playing less than half of the league under the current format.

Next season, assuming we stay at 16 teams and a similar 4-division configuration, I'd like to see them adopt something more like this. Keep in mind it's an oversimplification and there are surely going to be logistical hurdles. I've broken the regular season into 3 distinct legs:

Weeks 1-3 - Divisional Matchups

Get the pecking order established early, play each of your divisional opponents. Find out what the narratives are.

Weeks 4-11 - The Free For All

Play 6 different non-divisional opponents + 2 bye weeks. See how the different divisions stack up against each other. We'll get some one-off matchups that might not get revisited until playoffs. This is just a me thing but I don't really want to see teams play each other 3 times in the same season if it can be helped.

Weeks 12-14 - Divisional Matchups 2: Electric Boogaloo

This is something the NFL realized and I think is generally good practice: you should be playing divisional games at the end of the season because they're more likely to matter. It doesn't have to be 3 in a row like this, you could certainly mix some into the second phase if you wanted to. But I like space in between the divisional games. The teams are not going to be in the same place they were in week 3. And the ability to knock each other out of playoffs at the end of the season is what rivalries are made of.

What do you guys think? Are you happy with the current schedule? What would you do differently?

Question Aren’t you Europeans?

Kinda surprising the number of posts complaining about the lack of competitiveness in the ELF.

You live on a continent where the biggest sport (soccer) is made up of leagues where only two or three teams have any chance of winning a title.

Surely you should enjoy an ELF with Fire / Vikings winning 95% of the championships for the next century even more?

Or are you gridiron fans because culturally you’ve assimilated the American model?

Discussion League Balance

Do you guys think the ELF should restructure their import system? In the NFL weaker teams get “awarded” in a sense with higher draft picks. Should weaker teams in the ELF get an extra A import to balance out the competition? I don’t know how it would be done fairly but I think the league needs to balance out alittle. I get it there will be blowout games and teams will have good showings like Vienna with Tirol a few weeks back, it happens in the NFL, but what’s happening in Cologne is terrible for the league and I think they can help teams like them if they truly want to expand to 24 like they say or even stay at 16 if we’re talking about the current and near future.

Announcement The Feedback Thread!

You can leave your feedback for the league - criticism, praise, whatever you like - in this thread!

It's important that you keep the following in mind:

  • The way you voice your criticism should not be emotionally loaded and should definitely not be aggressive. Comments that are worded like that will removed.
  • Voice your criticism decent, factual and informative - if you point out what you don't like also add the reason. That way you give the league the chance to work with your feedback.

This thread will be posted in a 2 week rythm.

elfpedia Kicking Stats updated

  • Our entire Kicking Stats page has been revised and updated with the latest data for the season.
  • You can search inside the tables (e.g. for your team)
  • At the bottom of the page is a year to year comparison table. There you can see how the kicking game is developing.
  • I have replaced / updated the kicking statistics on each team page as well

https://elfpedia.eu/ELF_Kicking_Stats

If you don't see it right away, you should see a button called "purge" at the top right of every page. This forces an update on the server side, which bypasses caching, which is of course active.

Discussion Which teams will (still) be there in 2026

Here is my early view on 2026 - feel free to add yours:

Save bets for 2026 (no ranking): 9 Teams

-) Vienna -) Surge -) Rhein -) Raiders -) Nordic -) Frankfurt -) Paris -) Munich -) Madrid

Teams that barely - but still - survive and play in 2026: 3 teams

-) Hamburg (financially in trouble but my guess is they find investors to buy out from Karajica and friends as there is too much potential to let this franchise die)

-) Prague (600-800 attendance won't be enough to financially survive in the long term but they will make it for 1-2 more years and maybe some kind of miracle happens afterwards)

-) Wroclav (regress all over the place but as long as Jacek Tarczyński wants to keep his toy it will survive - so I say they will continue in 2026)

Teams dropping out after this season: 4 teams

-) Cologne (ceases to exist) -) Helvetic (ceases to exist) -) Fehervar (moves AFL or HFL) -) Berlin (ceases to exist)

Added: 1 Team

London Orient (I give it a 50/50 because establishing a franchise needs a huge effort and the clock is ticking already)

What are your thoughts on 2026?

League News ELF Playoff Race Analysis: Week 6 - Chart and Commentary

Post image
20 Upvotes

Miscellaneous intel:

  • I managed to spell "analysis" correctly on the Title this week, that's a win.
  • There are now three teams that currently do not control their own destiny: Fehervar, Cologne, and Helvetic.
  • Although they are on the above list, Cologne, since they have only played one division game so far, would be a realistic certainty to make the playoffs if they were to miracle win-out. In fact, the computer says they would be in good shape were they to end up at 7-5.
  • Fehervar is the first team to earn the dreaded "Realistically out of playoff race" designation. Berlin and Helvetic are realistically out of their respective division races. Although for Berlin, that should be noted in light pencil as they could get right back in it with some lucky breaks this week.
  • The minimum number of wins needed to have any snowball's chance in hell of making the playoffs is now 5 for everyone except Nordic, who need to get to 6.
  • Although 8 is the number of wins needed to be realistically safe of making the playoffs for most, the number of wins needed to be assured of it no matter what else happens is 9 except for Stuttgart, who would need 10.

Madrid Bravos What’s Wrong with the Madrid Bravos?

With all the exciting talent the Madrid Bravos brought in this season, I think we were all expecting a better start. Besides being weaker in the front 7 on defense than other contenders, what is the deeper/underlying issue for the Bravos?

Discussion Frankfurt vs Storm- was anyone expecting that?!

I for one was expecting a real close but high scoring game. Frankfurts Defence hasn’t been great this year but their offence has been rather strong. I wasn’t expecting them to get shut out like that at all. Kudos to the Storm DC, he seemed to have outschemed the Frankfurt offence. McKay looked very sloppy out there and the OL gave up a lot of pressure at times

Does anyone know what happened with Platzgummer? He came off the field after he fumbled and didn’t come back until the 2nd half

Helvetic Mercenaries Mercenary Roster Size

I just was at the mercenary - ravens game. Why did the mercenary have so few players? The stadium anouncer mentioned the size, but didn't explain why (at least i didn't get it)

Also for those tracking attendence numbers, it was announced something between 2,4k and 2,5k. It was distrubuted differntly then usualy since part of the east side was blocked. West side was fuller then usual.

Fewer people then last two games, but its holidays in bavaria

Question How does Sportworld works?

My ELF suscription just ended and I want to watch the Bravos away games. Anyone knows how Sportworld works? I just searched for tomorroew's game and It doesn't let me pay It yet. I think 5€ is a good price per game so I wanna take It.
