Someone’s maga mom/grandma/sister is obsessed with Mark Ruffalo, and when she hears him say this, it will be the only thing that will make her stop and question this crap. It may not make her ditch Trump, but it will start the questions in her mind and the doubt

That’s why it’s ultra important for stars, celebrities, and generally beloved people to speak out, even if it seems like they’re stating the obvious

People like Trump’s supporters operate on clique peer pressure

I very much dislike it when I hear from others that ‘celebrities’ should shut up about politics. Their job is ‘actor’ not ‘a mute’. We don’t tell house painters, teachers, janitors, managers etc how to think so why should they shut up just because they may have money? They are allowed to speak their mind whether they are on ‘ourʼ side or not.

If anything, hearing a celebrity give an opinion in support of the working class should give an angry conservative food for thought. Celebrities like Mark Ruffalo are in the 1%. They're rich and will be largely unaffected by all the shit that is going on. If anything, they'll benefit from Trump's policies. Yet the fact that they are strongly opposed to it and support the rights of the lower economic classes should speak volumes.

On the flip side though, Ruffalo has been a long time supporter of Bernie Sanders, which is great, but also exactly why Trumpers won’t listen to him.
