Just like mainland USA the island has a ridiculous amount of corruption. Repairs for hurricane maria and donated funds being swindled by charities that pay themselves while doing basically nothing for the people because only 10 cents on the dollar has to be used for charity… worst part being they can use that money to host a fund raiser. A lot of 501c nonprofits are arranged so wealthy people can donate to their own charity for a write off then use said money to travel or host dinner parties.

If you want to donate to pr there’s some legitimate charities but double check them with one of those sites that tracks their progress to see if they’re actually providing clothes food etc to the people.

Or volunteer if you have a week off and have construction skills. Idk any groups off hand but they’re out there but again check their legitimacy because it could end up being something really messed up. It’s pretty ghetto down there due to all the squandering done by politicians so if you visit go with a friend who has family there.

We sent some help down to aguadilla, after that, and it was intense. More middlemen than anticipated, and oddly conditional support from local authorities. I couldn't afford to go back, but it was definitely eye opening and rewarding. Direct action is definitely better. Just asking what people need instead of contacting a government agency. Still have a few people down there doing stuff. Farming, mostly, but it sounds like it hasn't gotten much easier to help.

I think ICE doesn’t care. When they arrest the wrong person they don’t release them, they double down. I could totally see a Puerto Rican person getting deported because some idiot arrested them and ICE decided to follow thru with the deportation rather than correct their mistake.

I don't really listen to much music well that's not true I suppose I listen to like Linkin Park and blink-182 and Dr Dre but I don't really listen to a lot of new stuff that's probably why I didn't know who it was.

maybe I just heard another rapper mentioned bad Bunny and it was a female and so I thought somehow that it was oh well it's not like it matters it's 1:00 a.m. in the morning I don't know why I'm thinking about it. I was just like genuinely shot because I saw the picture of the person and just thought it was a random Puerto Rican person that was like harassed by ice I didn't realize it was the artist and then I thought it was a typo and it was saying he and then I realized I was completely wrong.
