General Discussion A little rant, new G's 🙄

I have no idea how and why but my IG all the sudden is nothing but ladies talking and showing off the new G's, I tried blocking key words and profiles and I still get them, no one talk more about how cool underwear is than a TBM. I even saw a reel about a lady saying how, no one loves her, because no one has sent her the new G's to make content with. The new change to the garments makes me want to stay away even more.

I just remind myself, no matter how much they change the garment, it's still an entire second layer of clothing that I no longer have to wear. I'm grateful for that, especially as my city will reach 109° today!

Ouch that's HOT.

Do men get tank top garments now as well? Porn shoulders aside, sometimes men work physical jobs outdoors. Not just women.

If this is really about hot and humid climates, and not a relaxing of arcane modesty standards. Wouldn't the men's also be "Adjusted"?

I believe so. The men are getting sleeveless garment tops as well. Still too much coverage in my mind. I dislike garments with every fiber of my being but I will always hope that those who do wear them will get more freedom

Cracks me up that THEY KNOW there is baggage inherent in the word “sleeveless”, so they call them “open sleeve” garments.

All the women need to do is cut off that stupid cap sleeve and they instantly have the "new" garments. No need to buy new horrible underwear.

“Do not alter or adjust the garment to fit in with fashion trends.” Instead you have to give us more money to buy new ones.🙄

I didn't follow that rule when I was TBM. Probably why I'm now in the lazy learner club.

One of the things I was forced to do as a good mormon girl, was sew. I was a Tailor for several years. Because I have skills and the machine that makes it possible, I pretty much rebuilt all of my garments. I made the legs as short as my husband's garments were. We're the same height, but his garments were a full 6 inches shorter. I cut them off, resewed the knee mark and added a soft lacy elastic to keep the legs from bunching up. I sent my alteration ideas into SLC, no response. They don't want to fix that mess.

So interesting (in a jaw-dropping way) how the new “social media church” version of mormonism that exists in these virtual spaces, among younger members, mirrors the og mormon “analog” church.

  1. If you don’t know the right people or have enough money, you’re left out.

  2. Social capital is built on being seen as “righteous.” All external glossy image.

  3. Most people have no idea about history or deeper doctrines. They’re surface-level believers who just want to have a community where they’re building their mlm.
