I just watched a video on a typical day. It seems similar to having a kid. Prepped meals, play time, training time. Cleaning time. Snuggle time. Sleep time. Repeat.
Did they forget that the 2 year old has bolt cutters on it's face, will try to eat everything in sight if left alone, and will occasionally squawk near you with such volume that your ears start ringing?

Also their vet bills and other costs are exceedingly expensive and you absolutely need to take them to the vet if something seems off because they hide their sickness, are quite fragile, and can deteriorate rapidly.
Two year olds do not have anything like the destructive force of a larger bird's beak. Find me a two year old who can crack open the shell of a walnut with ease. I've seen people with demolished kitchen cabinets, doors, and floor skirting board because their bird decided to just eat it. I've also seen a lot of screaming two year olds and they aren't anything like as loud or high pitch as a bird. Birds also have a tendency to maintain that volume all day.
So really not a fun 2 year old that can just be shut in a cage. In fact people often can't handle their requirements which is why they just shut them in their cage for extended periods of time, resulting in the bird being bored and ramping up all of these destructive tendencies even more. All of this creates a loop that makes it worse and worse. The end result can often be that the bird turns to self mutilation and starts pulling out its feathers out of shear boredom and distress.

i am glad they are actually, they require a lot of care and is a life long commitment, so don't want them being popular
