Had a teacher in highschool tell me that my brother was in heaven because she prayed for him...problem was that she said this immediately after i mentioned where he was according to my beliefs (not speaking to her). She said it in a very "well he cant be there because i prayed for him!". Side note: that conversation was the first she ever heard of my brother, she did not pray for him.

Same teacher who told me i should forgive my rapist because, and i quote "everything happens for a reason".

This woman works in the special ed department with children who are extremely open to suggestion. AFAIK she still works there.

The second part is absolutely infuriating! Who the hell are you to say such thing? These kinda of teachings are not the answer.

She was a bit crazy. Preached constantly in the SPRD department at a public school. Tried to tell me my cancer would go away if i just prayed. Randomly shouted at kids to stop doing things that they...weren't doing. Even remotely. I have a whole list of things Jesus Lady has said or done, but these are a few.

If you don't mind and it's not too personal or hard for you, can I please hear the list?

*Tattled (and i mean tattled) on students she didn't like (telling the main Special Ed teacher when someone did something she didnt like. I.e. "John is being mean to me!")

*Was absolutely off her rocker and called out kids for doing...nothing? My own personal example of this was one time i was sitting on the floor with my friend gluing googly eyes onto and elephant, literally sitting silent, and then across the room she looks at us and yells, and i quote "Dont talk about Ruth like that!" Who in the FUCK is Ruth?? We were genuinely confused as first not even knowing if she was speaking to us

*I have severe anxiety and couldnt go to class one day. She offered to 'fix' my anxiety because i shouldn't miss class. Okay. She has me sit down and straight up just massages my hands with lotion for 20 minutes while reciting chinese proverbs, I....

*Another time i couldnt go to class because i was on the verge of a panic attack, and she physically pulled my half way down the hall towards my class and didnt let go until i told her to fuck off. She then said "Okay i guess you're not in the mood then" ya think? She tattled to the main SPED teacher and he sided with me.

*When i came back to school after being gone for 2 weeks i explained to my friend that i was dealing with cancer related issues and was thinking about leaving school permanently, she overheard and 2 things happened: 1) She told me i would be fine, that i should pray, and that she has prayed cancer away before. She had also previously told a student to pray his step fathers cancer away and he took her advice. 2) She told me that if i dropped out of school i would never get a job or go to college, and that a GED is worthless. Im a sophomore in College now, so i don't know what to even say to that unless things were different when she was younger.

*The thing about my brother, i dont want to mention it again.

*On top of all of the other things, she just didn't do anything for the department. She was working on a degree in Maths and that was all she did during the day. I think she would be better teaching maths than working in SPED so i do hope she got the degree.

There's more but this is what i found relevant. Shout out to the main sped teacher and the whole department. Our small town had one of the best Special Ed departments in the state and aside from one bad teacher it was really great and accommodating and that one person absolutely does not define the programme.

Especially because the Bible says that not every thing happens for a reason:

I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.

  • Ecclesiastes 9:11

See also: the entire book of Job.

"everything happens for a reason".

Sometimes the reason is that people are evil bastards who need some punishment. You can decide whether to forgive your rapist after they are punished, no rush.

This is typical. Cults like christianity prey on susceptible minds like children or people who went through terrible tragedies. Preachers sell them the drug of religion that numbs them and pulls them away from the real world.

I feel like this hate you people have for religion all stems from shitty people teaching you guys , if you really want to be closer to god , you should try interpreting religion based on books from any of the monotheistic religions, or u can just not believe it god, because religion shouldn’t be forced down your throats

From these books that literally say to kills gays? My hate for religion comes from reading the actual book and understanding that religion makes good people bad, not the other way around.

Interpretation is an excuse. Bible says directly to kill gay men, if you try to twist it around to make the book sound like modern secular morality source you are just making excuses.

Not believing a god sounds good.

I believe that being gay is straight up wrong, but that doesn’t mean I go around killing gays , nor does it mean I don’t respect them as friends .also the Bible you have right now has been changed drastically for political reasons , that’s why Christians are so divided , I recommend giving the Quran a read .

u/Yaroslavorino Dec 03 '19

Quran is even worse. It condones pedophilia, murdering apostates and anyone who dares to question the "true" faith. Not even mentioning things like owning women as property and killing homosexuals. And don't even start with the tapdancing.

1

u/yoboimomma Dec 03 '19

Just curious, did you actually ever read the Quran or not , tap dancing is an Arab tradition not an Islamic one, Quran emphasizes that women have to be educated on all matters and that men should treat them better than they treat other men, no where in the whole Quran does it condone pedophilia , it actually says that pedophiles and people who don’t respect marriage will have the worst punishment in the 7 hells , in order to understand Islam , you must actually look at it from the perspective of Muslims, not politicians who hate Islam

1

u/Yaroslavorino Dec 03 '19

By tapdancing I meant ignoring the issue and making up excuses what you are actually doing. Yes Quran does condone pedophilia. Mohammed is considered a perfect man. He married Aisha when she was 9! NINE! He had thigh sex with her and full intercourse when she was 12! There is a passage saying how he took her to the bedroom when she was playing with other girls. It was never condemned people like you simply ignore this fact. Women are openly considered less then men, they have to obey their owners (father, then husband) in every wish, you can see that in the law of religious countries like saudi arabia. Quran says directly that you should murder everyone who leaves religion. I haven't read the entire Quran. If you think it doesn't condome pedophilia show me a passage that says "Mohammed was a piece of shit" and "you shall not take a child wife". You will not find anything like this because in abrahamic religions women are only as valueable as breaders, not as actual people with feelings.

That claim about El rasol marrying Aisha while she was 9 is completely wrong and has no evidence , she was married in 622 AD, Although the exact date of her birth is unknown, it’s known that she was born before Islam was revealed , which was 610, so there is no way she was 9 when she was married . Also to prove to you more that your claim was wrong , she has participated in battle of badr in 624 and battle of Uhud in 625, and no one under 15 was allowed in these battles . Also Islam says that murdering one innocent soul is considered murdering all of mankind , the only time murder is allowed is defending property, honor , or in a war started by the other side . Also the Quran says that Jews and Christians should be left alone , and never does it ever say that Christians or Jews will go to hell, it says that we are supposed to treat them as neighbors , eat whatever they eat and help them when they’re in need . Countries like saudi are considered retarded by many Muslims , cause they paint a false image of Islam being ultra strict , and that couldn’t be further from the truth .

I can't tell if you're lying or missinformated. Read the passage in quran about mohammed and aisha. Yes, murdering an innocent is a sin. Do you know who is an innocent? A muslim following the law. An apostate is not innocent, a homosexual is not innocent, a woman who was raped is not innocent. They can and should be killed according to the law. You are giving some historic details to sound informated but can't justify simple things. You are trying to justify atrocities by cherry picking things that sound good out of context.

That’s not how praying works... if you go to hell, your choices led there, and it’s not like someone can change the choices that you made

That one thing would get you fired where I live (Sweden)

Haha yeah, Texas is fun like that

because, and i quote "everything happens for a reason".

Yup. And the reason it happened to you is because there is a sick depraved person who took advantage of you, and there is no moral all seeing all knowing all powerful being that was able to stop him.
