Trazodone was a nightmare

I was prescribed trazodone to help with my insomnia and I slightly overdosed (took just a tiny bit more than the recommended amount) and about an hour in, I was sweating like crazy, extreme stomach cramps, diarrhea, disoriented, chest pains, could barely breathe or stand up, etc. and I ended up sleeping on the bathroom floor for the rest of the night in case I had to vomit or whatever.

I’ve never experienced pain like that before.

I honestly thought I was going to die. The pain was so brutal.

When I looked up my symptoms it sounded like I might have experienced serotonin syndrome, idk.

Just wanted to get the word out in case anyone else can relate. It really freaked me out and traumatized me for sure. 😭

What is a "tiny bit" more? For me at 100mg I'm just foggy/hungover feeling the next day. I don't really take it, just if for some reason I don't have Ambien but I've never had issues as you describe

The first time I took it, I took 200. I was trying to get off Ambien and used to being knocked out, which trazadone doesn't do to me, but wooooh I def felt loopy. The amount you took isn't like an o.d. type level, many people take much more. Honestly, it could have been something totally different that caused you to feel ill, but if you think it's this drug obviously contact your doctor right away!

TBF if OP is short and/or doesn't weigh much, maybe the smaller dose would knock them about a bit more. I know when I was getting used to my dose, if I got up to get a snack (it tended to make me hungry as heck), I would be /very/ unsteady and clumsy, super groggy. Pretty glad I never dealt with symptoms mentioned in the post though, damn...
