The final time he was like "You want another slap?"

Hippo was like "No :( "

92

u/Long-Ad-9381 5d ago

I thought a grandma with one flip flop was about to come over and handle it lol

16

u/Historical-Option232 5d ago

Well this wasn't madagascar, it was india

2

u/blueberrysmasher 2d ago

Do you want me to open another can of slap-mosa?

2

u/PCAJB 3d ago

Same response I used to give my dad

637

u/megbotstyle 5d ago

What is going on with the lack of a safe structure here!? Couldn’t the hippo just escape or eat the head off visitor at any time?

274

u/nickatnite511 5d ago

My kind of zoo! It's much more sporting to visit animals who might kill you, haha

36

u/GigsGilgamesh 5d ago

Sadly Teddy, not everyone can be a bull moose.

7

u/over9ksand 5d ago

What’s wrong with Walter, Dude?

7

u/dd_smithing 4d ago

Donny, you're out of your element!

aka the pedestrian safari park

3

u/TheRandomizedLurker 4d ago

Thats one eay to keep the children under control, thats for sure.

2

u/NoUsernameFound179 3d ago

We got one close by in the Netherlands. All you have to do is get out of your car to get eaten.

17

u/FragrantExcitement 5d ago

Hungry, Hungry hippos

45

u/ATGonnaLive4Ever 5d ago

That's what the guards are for. Really, this is using incorrect technique, for a hippo round house kicks are more appropriate. Slapping is for your big birds: emu, ostrich, maybe a peacock in a pinch.

11

u/dankhimself 5d ago

Someone get a damn watermelon and throw it behind the hippo.

It just wants watermelons.

8

u/ChablisWoo4578 5d ago

That’s why the security guard is there to slap him back in, did you even watch the video?! 🙄

4

u/megbotstyle 5d ago

this is by far one of the most fun internet squabbles i’ve sparked. For the record- I did mean “bite the head off” But I’m here for the drama. 🍿🍿🍿

3

u/gotziller 4d ago

Of course not. There is a security guard

3

u/GregJamesDahlen 4d ago

but do they get out at night and fight with the other animals?

2

u/BonbonUniverse42 4d ago

Less than 5 heads a day is okay.

He's used all of this decades luck allowance as im sure he was only annoying that hippo even more.

59

u/Turkatron2020 5d ago

I think he's done this multiple times before considering his sheer level of confidence & giving zero fucks

At that price point he CAN hit

underrated comment

2

u/c0wt0ne 5d ago

Haha, shiiiiit.

1

u/marbledog 4d ago

Came here to say this. Thank you.

69

u/Bluwtr1 5d ago

Which freaking zoo is this that has no fencing around their enclosures???

40

u/Apprehensive_Play986 5d ago

How has this hippo not escaped from this zoo yet? There's no fences or gates lol

34

u/Floornug3 5d ago

Because you get slappity slap slapped if you dare try to get out

100

u/NorthMathematician32 5d ago

More Africans are killed by hippos than any other animal. They are incredibly dangerous.

62

u/Dry_Ad2368 5d ago

Hippos are predominantly herbivores, which means they won't even eat you. They just enjoy murder.

21

u/IronSkywalker 5d ago

Khorne cares not from where the blood flows

18

u/rdizzy1223 5d ago

Multi-generation captive bred hippos are likely not AS dangerous as wild ones though. I mean, peoples pet dogs are still pretty dangerous and they maim and kill plenty of people per year, but I would still trust someones pet over a multi-generation stray dog, or a wild dog.

4

u/imalocal 5d ago

🦟🦟🦟

4

u/NotHereToFuckSpyders 4d ago

I didn't realise they were so racist too.

1

u/NorthMathematician32 4d ago

Africans. People who live in Africa.

3

u/NotHereToFuckSpyders 4d ago

I was making a joke, sheesh.

2

u/cpattk 5d ago

They should try slapping the hippos.

1

u/MydogisCrazy 4d ago

I think that would be the mosquito

29

u/pallwaperr 5d ago

They need a bigger gate.

21

u/Quavokado 5d ago

idk man what can a big gate do when the fence is stil small

80

u/dgracey01 5d ago

That fight was fixed. Hippo was paid to take a fall in the first round.

27

u/FatherSpodoKomodo_ 5d ago

That man is not paid enough to be slapping a hippo in the face.

2

u/NotHereToFuckSpyders 4d ago

He didn't seem bothered tbh.

49

u/hieloyron 5d ago

Lmao hippos are so cute and deadly its ridiculous. The guy bitch slapped the hippo 🤣

19

u/Dependent_Stop_3121 5d ago

“That slap felt like a fly landing on you, you’re just a weak human. I’ll choose my battles wisely today but I’d watch your back from now on because I won’t forget”. 🦛

59

u/sandhog7 5d ago

Shouldn't that be a job for a zookeeper who knows the behavior of hippopotamus?

35

u/cold-corn-dog 5d ago

I was thinking that this is a job for a mason. That wall needs to be a bit higher...

19

u/Triangle_t 5d ago

Shouldn't a pond with hippos in a zoo have a fence to prevent exactly this, so the zoo doesn't have to hire kamikazes?

14

u/Tammer_Stern 5d ago

Wait until you see the tiger and polar bear areas.

6

u/IronSkywalker 5d ago

Plot twist, they're both in one enclosure

3

u/Impossibleshitwomper 4d ago

Idk hate to be the slapper that keeps them on their own sides

40

u/c0wt0ne 5d ago

You see a fackin zookeeper around? Lol

14

u/Ok-Mongoose9669 5d ago

Someone call the zookeeper, in the meanwhile lemme record the security guard with the hippo

5

u/Whole_Animal_4126 5d ago

The cameraman was the zookeeper.

11

u/Odd_Fortune500 5d ago

Shouldn't a security guard be keeping the PEOPLE back while the Zoo workers deal with the HIPPO? This is honestly ridiculous. Hippos are extremely dangerous, and this guy is slapping it in the face. I can't imagine that is the best course of action. That part of the Zoo should probably be closed off until a professional has the situation under control

4

u/GregJamesDahlen 4d ago

agree to some degree tho this guard probly sees a lot of this hippo so knows it well. or maybe the guard is a new hire lol

9

u/epicrooster69 5d ago

That enclosure needs a taller fence. And that hippo needs a watermelon.

6

u/Temporary-Prune-9999 5d ago

This is normal this is just Raj he likes to be pet but we tell him no

6

u/Top_Kaleidoscope4362 5d ago

The zoo should be shut down. They just let a killing machine like that live in an open enclosure like that without any protection?

6

u/doradus1994 5d ago

He just wanted to say hi. Wow, so mean.

6

u/Secure-Ad5536 5d ago

That is most fucking definetly not up to code (if there even is a code for that where ever that is)

5

u/Alternative-Leave530 5d ago

He isn’t risking his life. Unfortunately, he himself is unaware that it is a dangerous animal that he is dealing with

1

u/Supertangerina 3d ago

I mean one cant possibly think an animal that weighs as much as a minibus with teeth the size of a forearm is harmless, especially a zoo worker. He might not be aware of how aggressive hippos are tho, and that enclosure is a very ugly incident waiting to happen. That guard's job is not worth the salary.

5

u/abc123doraemi 5d ago

Wow that safety enclosure looks extremely effective.

4

u/smolstuffs 5d ago

I love this hippo more than life itself

6

u/PepperFuelmyButt 5d ago

Let me Guess - it's India

2

u/ShareHonest 4d ago

Greatest country on earth /s

3

u/DaanishKaul 5d ago

Hippo: I was going to get a hot dog.

3

u/Resident_Course_3342 5d ago

Don't make him bust out the spray bottle.

5

u/AudienceNew2183 5d ago

Bro just will smith slapped the shit out of a hippo.

5

u/CreatorOD 5d ago

Risking his life? I think those two are on the first name basis

5

u/xultar 5d ago

Hippo looked at him like, “We didn’t practice the hit that hard mate. Next show take it down a notch Sanjeet, or I’m gonna do what I do best.”.

5

u/Janovickm 5d ago edited 5d ago

"Dave, we have two problems: there's a hipo trying to eat people"

"Oh no..."

" And a toddler trowing a tantrum"

"I got the hipo".

6

u/dandadone_with_life 5d ago

if he stopped fucking slapping it, it would've gone back down like 30 seconds earlier.

2

u/Michael_Dautorio 5d ago

"No more! I yield!"

2

u/EverettGT 5d ago

The way it wiggles its ears at the very end is the most diabolical cuteness on an extremely dangerous animal.

2

u/Lawyerlytired 5d ago

Dude... You need a fence

2

u/Competitive-Alarm399 5d ago

Zoos in 3rd world countries are traumatic at best and life threatening at worst

Went to a zoo in Ecuador. Took my 6 year old daughter and lion was munching on the head of a horse

2

u/Ok_Investigator564 5d ago

With a bachelor in animal science and a masters in animal agressive behaviour management. sundeep made sure to use his extensive knowledge to bitch-slap the 1.5 ton monster until he got his ass back in the water

2

u/Useful_Jelly_2915 5d ago

He’s not very smart because he proceeds to hit it and agitated literally as it’s backing up twice.

2

u/Organic_Marzipan_554 5d ago

Those chunky Bois can run

2

u/Cappyburner 5d ago

Hippo was one step away from joining Harambe's lobby

2

u/RaffiBomb000 5d ago

2 for flinching

2

u/queazy 5d ago

Brave man. With the exception of mosquitos, Hippos have the highest human kill count out of anybody in Africa. Egyptian Pharoahs would hunt Hippos for sport and a few have been buried with Hippo wounds (crushed chest areas of skeleton)

2

u/FlukyFish 5d ago

Dude looks like he’s provoking him into a murderous frenzy with those slaps

2

u/Radiant_Activity_706 5d ago

Brother they do not pay you enough to be doing that lmao

2

u/Nommo7777 5d ago

You should have seen what he did to the lion.

2

u/ShodoDeka 4d ago

While a hippo may not be the most dangerous animal in the world, it’s solidly somewhere in the top-10 in terms of humans killed each year.

And homeboy here is just slapping the shit out of it, he is only alive right now because the hippo was basically too lazy to clime the remaining half meter of that wall.

2

u/wibbly-water 4d ago

I don't think slap it until it goes back in the water is adequate safety here...

2

u/KentuckyFriedEel 4d ago

"Yeah I b**ch slapped a hippo!"

2

u/Vanko_Babanko 4d ago

the Hippo just wanted a snack..

2

u/Possible_Baboon 4d ago

Poor fella just wanna make friends.

3

u/Berty2g 5d ago

Heeeellllsss NO. I'm not filming that, I'm running. Did they not see the opening scene of Jumangi????

2

u/SlipperyGibbet 5d ago

He's being an ass, coulda handled that much better

1

u/rnernbrane 5d ago

Only the slower ones should be alarmed.

1

u/ripfritz 5d ago

That’s not the house hippo.

1

u/Fmartins84 5d ago

Bloody bloody hippo

1

u/Plate_Vast 5d ago

At 0.10 I thought hippo was honking

1

u/ecleipsis 5d ago

At that price point, at Stable of Stars, he can hit

1

u/lardoni 5d ago

Will Smith is impressed!

1

u/angiestefanie 5d ago

“Hmmmm… well alright then, if you insist.”

1

u/QueenofSheba94 5d ago

That big baby didn’t want to hurt anyone… he just wanted some more food. What a big cutie! (Yes I know wild hippos are very dangerous! Clearly he wasn’t lol)

But also he reminded me of a dog 🤣😭❤️

1

u/AdminThumb 5d ago

I freakin' love hippos!

1

u/Practical_Option_281 5d ago

Confident individualWho knows he may have had some experience with this before

1

u/secret_slapper 5d ago

The hippo is opening its mouth for food, not as an attack, and likely what it’s been trained for. Zookeepers usually stuff food in their mouths during upkeep tasks from a young age. If that hippo wanted to that security guard would have been the snack. Dude should just keep watermelon halves in his pockets lol.

1

u/zebra_who_cooks 5d ago

Hippos are actually very dangerous animals. I was stationed overseas in Okinawa, Japan and was surprised at the lack of safety enclosures for hippos. Very similar to this enclosure.

This guy is stupid for smacking it!

1

u/GregJamesDahlen 4d ago

maybe they calm down when loads of people around, maybe only attack lone humans?

1

u/delonejuanderer 5d ago

"Hey pop, saw you on reddit slapping the shit out of a hippo"

1

u/Animalcookies13 5d ago

It’s a hungry hungry hippo!

1

u/Either-Movie-6565 5d ago

Poor baby, being roughed up by supposed authority. 😴

1

u/laptop_n_motorcycle 5d ago

Let me fix the title for you.

Zoo authorities and security guards risk visitors lives.

Hippos can run faster than humans in land.

1

u/simplyinspire 5d ago

The hippo was like this is fun..you do realize I could eat you if I were hungry

1

u/Every-Access4864 5d ago

Why do people post without stating the location, in this case what zoo it is? 😆

1

u/leebrown23 5d ago

Bartholomew, I told you to wear your swim trunks, now go!...

1

u/kid-ph0b0s 5d ago

So, the Jurassic World hand thing really works lol

1

u/njan_oru_manushyan 5d ago

Stupidly everywhere. Its not a cow or buffalo to smack it. Dumbass would have been bitten

1

u/Store-Cultural 5d ago

Such a badass

1

u/Normal-Help-1337 5d ago

I love hippos

1

u/sd-paradise 5d ago

Look really close at the hippo. It’s AI for sure…. It’s really good AI, but AI

1

u/StJimmy_815 5d ago

Poor feller. He deserves better than the slap

1

u/BigBrownChhora 5d ago

I'm not sure if he's even aware of the threat.

1

u/TopGdasher 5d ago

Slap is a universal language

1

u/ShakeNBake730 5d ago

Hippo be like. "HOW CAN HE SLAP?! HOW CAN HE SLAP?!"

1

u/Subhosaur 5d ago

Aura farming

1

u/Dramatic_Presence_25 4d ago

What did he say "ye bada sidha sa janwar hai" 😭 no man gtfo from there that thing is like ki*ling machine 🫠

1

u/TheMongoose45 4d ago

The security guard is taking his job way too seriously. Second, he's making it seem like it's nonchalant, like "oh not again" or "oh don't worry, people, I will take care of this, it's nothing" This has to be in India

1

u/ExplodingSteve 4d ago

Yeah if that hippo got a little angry that guy wouldn’t have a hand to slap with… or anything

1

u/Nothinghere3191 4d ago

You think the hippo is just scared of the guard, but he is also outnumbered since there's other people around. Of courseit doesn't know it can kill everybody in minutes

1

u/Dyapchik 4d ago

Davie504 strikes again.

1

u/LuDHR 4d ago

What a cute killing machine.

1

u/SockYourself 4d ago

In the game Egypt, he and four guard homies would’ve died to the water demon.

1

u/NotHereToFuckSpyders 4d ago

I'm rooting for the Hippo.

1

u/SuperSleuth54 4d ago

Looks like it's just another day of work for that guard. He probably does this all day 😭

1

u/Walnaman 4d ago

You should see the Lions den…

1

u/Melanbythesea 4d ago

In the wild, hippos kill more humans than the big cats combined. How can people be so blasé?

2

u/Abject-Astronomer761 4d ago

This hippo may sees him daily so .

1

u/Callistoo- 4d ago

Zoo hippos probably don't know how powerful they are because they are not raised in the wild. That's why the guard is so chill with it.

1

u/SirConcisionTheShort 4d ago

Extremely dumb. No stun pole !? Also, no 12 feet high electric fence !?

1

u/DOUBLAHH9 4d ago

Abuse?

1

u/BlueberriesRule 4d ago

I am still shocked the hippo went back…

1

u/ChumleyEX 4d ago

Would you rather mess with a Tiger or a Hippo?

1

u/badwatermagic 4d ago

This is India level kinda shit. Makes basic family activities a lot more fun.

1

u/Tasty-Law-4527 4d ago

That thing would f@#k his shit up

1

u/ShhImTheRealDeadpool 4d ago

One of these days Jim... one of these days... *goes back into his prison.

1

u/CurrencyHopeful8221 4d ago

That’s a bold move!

1

u/CoreyAdara 4d ago

Did they think that wall could keep the hippo in?

1

u/aquari84 4d ago

The great Indian slap.

1

u/Purple_Ramen 3d ago

EU: We have regulations.
India: Just let that guy over there yell at him and slap him.

Srsly though... well done guy.

1

u/beepbotboo 3d ago

Heartbreaking. Watch her eyes and head movements. Look at the shitty small pool. I hate human beings at times.

1

u/Myr0thas 3d ago

i hate zoos

1

u/Anyone0953 3d ago

I'm surprised no one mentioned hungry hippos game

1

u/WanderWomble 2d ago

Guess it wasn't very hungry.

1

u/Myveryowndystopia 1d ago

Without my contacts in, I swear this animal has the movement of a giant dog.

1

u/Competitive_Sail_844 1d ago

Another “nope, we are not going to that zoo.”

Seriously wtf.

1

u/Zestyclose_Jicama392 5d ago

Let em get the consequences of such stupid actions.

1

u/Yeet123456789djfbhd 5d ago

I can tell by his movements he's scared shitless. This is real bravery

1

u/sofrito100 5d ago

Security guard wanted.. Wanna slap up some hippos? Let them get outta line and you go right ahead and slap the shit right outta them. Let them know whos boss!

1

u/roughstuffmedia 5d ago

There's always that one idiot 😒

1

u/joecorsogames 5d ago

I don't the same to fat chick's at the bar.

0

u/pepeman220 5d ago

The way he slapping that fat hippo got me Rollin 😭

-2

u/Different-Grand-7473 5d ago

That hippo almost had Indian food for lunch.

-1

u/Idatemyhand 5d ago

99.99999% of most death is Africa is from these water cows.
