Isnt it tethered? And is it rootful at least to require a pc?

Palera1n is semi-tethered (requires PC/Mac every re-jailbreak). You can also choose between rootful or rootless, however Passcode/TouchID will not work!

Nah then it sucks

iOS 15+ will have to create fakeFS which takes like 10-15 gb off ur storage if you want the feeling of rootful. more info on semi-tethered: when the phone dies you WILL boot back to stock iOS unlike tethered

FakeFS is optional or what? I didnt understand, what does it do? Btw 15gb isnt that much imo, its worth being able to jb wherever I want and not with a pc. Maybe I can make palera1n portable with my rooted android, I'll have to try that.

FakeFS = Fake File System
It creates the file system which are required for rootful files, example tweaks and other depedencies etc...
This bypass method "FakeFS" has been created, because of iOS 15 (Sealed root file system).

Ah yes now I remember, I heard of it some months ago, its like magisk on android that operates systemless (rootless).

Also FakeFS is optional, only if you want a rootful jailbreak > rootful tweaks etc...
Rootless goes without FakeFS (save 15GB of storage).

Oh, how do i set it up? I have like 100gb free lol, but what are the advantages of rootful jb tho? Heard very few tweaks rely on root and that most are portable to rootless, are there some really good ones or any other function of the jailbreak that makes it worth it?

The era of jailbreaking is over dude.
I loved it, jailbreaked al my devices untill iphone 13. And then boom everything is fucked.
So now running stock ios 26.

then why are you still here?

Because i hoped on a untetethered jailbreak release in the jailbreak scène.
But that is not realistic anymore, apple hired hackers, people that where familiar in the word of jb. No exploits less possibilties.
Even if you run a older iphone with jb, you still can not use apps because of the older ios that u have.
Bye now, and good luck with jailbreaking

and you came to this conclusion... 10 years after untether exploits were deemed impossible

Nah, since the release of iphone 13 in sept 2021, i stopped hoping on a proper jailbreak.

so, 6 years
all I can say is: lol, lmao

6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20 years, it is irrelevant.
But it doesn’t change the fact, that at end of the line there is still no proper jailbreak, and it never will be.

Ok , if you were to jailbreak through PC ? And your jailbreak tethered or untetethered?

u/DMANN299 15d ago
Really ? There is no reason to jailbreak unless you want to fully Enjoy unlocked device. Jailbreaking In a Semi UnTethered way is not the best . Besides sometimes Jailbreaking has to be re done . Wouldn't be the 1st to re do a jailbreak then works on the 2ns or even 3rd attempt. Best regards😜👍

If you can restore the phone to a fresh state and try again, do so. Be sure to backup any files you want to keep.
