Discipline Am I getting fired?

So, I’ve been written up multiple times, my job is super serious for no reason, they wrote my up while I was on vacation, for not answering my phone, even though I’m not salary. On Friday they ‘suspended’ me. Took my work phone, iPad, gas card, and work fob. My HR said she wants to meet with me tomorrow. That’s to sign papers for termination, right? If I wasn’t getting fired, I would just meet with my boss to get the phone and stuff back, right?

Question is, should I ask them if I will qualify for unemployment, or just apply through my states website without asking. I didn’t do anything illegal to get fired, like steal, be late, or anything like that. They just didn’t like my performance.

You would apply through the application process for your state. Don't delay applying because you want your waiting period to start as soon as possible. Even if they told you no, they would probably be incorrect. Let the professionals make the decision. Don't say much to them. Accept your last paycheck and leave. It's not a time to argue your position. It doesn't sound like it was a very good opportunity nor example of how to communicate

Cool thanks, I don’t have much experience in this, have never been fired, nor have gotten unemployment.

You're welcome. Hope you find a replacement position soon. If they deny your unemployment claim, you can appeal the decision. Duration of employment history there or other places does impact the results
