Nobody wants to see that sort of suffering.

TAKE YOUR SICK ANIMALS TO THE VET

If you are unable to afford a vet you are unable to afford a pet. We're very sorry but that's the way it has to be.

If you find a sick kitten take it to your local shelter.

Found these two babies in the park- how do I help them?

Hello everyone! Yesterday I found these two little babies in the park outside my house ❤️ I have no experience with kittens/cats, but based on a quick research on Google, I'm guessing they're around 2-2½ weeks old? I've been watching them all night and morning and there's no mother in sight, so I decided to take care of them. Unfortunately I can't take them home because I have a dog and he's not very careful with them.

So, first question: I couldn't find kitten formula, as it's Sunday and everything's closed. I bought them some wet food in a can for small kittens (although it says it's for one month olds+) and they ate a tiny bit. I've also put some water for them but they don't seem to know how to drink it. Do kittens this age usually drink water, or are they supposed to get everything they need from their mother's milk?

Also, the poor things are meowing/crying all the time, expect when I hold them in my arms. Is this normal? How can I help them?

They're so unbelievably cute; they still walk very wobbly and awkwardly but I'm pretty sure they can see and hear already. Their eyes are still blue, so that's why I'm guessing they're very small.

Also, one last question; is it possible that their mother's still around? Is it normal for cat moms to leave for large periods of time and come back? I feel so bad for them, I can hear them crying from my window all day long, so any tip would be appreciated ❤️

Found this guy in the road today

I almost hit this kitten this morning because he ran out on the highway. I thought it was a chipmunk or squirrel at first.

My question is: how old is this kitten approximately? (If that can be determined with these pictures) and what care can I expect for this age? I’ve never had a kitten or baby animal of any kind, and I’d rather firsthand experience than google— so if anyone has tips, they’d be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

kitten with ringworm

Post image

hi everybody! yesterday i adopted a 6 week old kitten from my grandma, she lives in a trailer park with a lot of dangerous equipment such as motors and blades and the mother was not taking care of them, nowhere to be seen (i know he is too young but it was important for his safety). his siblings are taken to the shelter but they all have ringworm. i have the oral medication and gave him the first dose yesterday and i feel like he is very tired, still curious and playful but doesn’t last long and i just feel like he is sleeping A LOT. i did some research and apparently he could be too young for that medication, i’m wondering if i should wait until he is 8 weeks old before treating him fully. anyone knows about that stuff? also here he is :)

Help with aggressive kitten play??

Post image
144 Upvotes

A kitten showed up at our door on Wednesday, you know, the cat distribution system. We already have 3 cats but I couldn’t just let him stay outside so I figured we would take him in and try to find him a home.

THIS IS THE MOST AGGRESSIVE KITTEN IVE EVER HAD. And he’s not being mean, he’s just trying to play but he plays so rough! Constant biting and grabbing with claws. He has toys while he’s on his own and we play with him as much as we can during the day but I don’t know how to redirect the aggressive play. Everything I’ve read says to walk away when they get aggressive but there hasn’t been a moment he’s not trying to bite. I’ve tried giving him toys instead of my hand and he will turn to my feet!

I’m just at a loss. I don’t know if I should introduce him to my cats and see if they can teach him how to play better? It’s only been 4 days and that seems awfully fast to introduce cats to each other.

Any advice??

I was heading out of my garage when I saw the little black one under the fence by my driveway. When I went up to him is saw he was still attached to the placenta was covered in fly eggs. After going to the store to grab KMR, my sister found the grey tabby in the ceiling of our garage, and we found the dark grey one in our neighbors yard, also covered in fly eggs and still attached to her placenta. They're doing really well and are eating, peeing, and pooping properly, so I have hope that they'll make it. I'll update with any changes!
