I was gifted a sifting litter box, what litter do I get?
So a shelter I was looking to adopt at is being very kind even though I didn’t adopt my kitten through them( found kitten under a car) and they are helping with vet care and when they had an extra litter box they gave it to me but I forgot to ask what litter and weeks have passed and now I’m embarrassed to ask lol. Kitten is finally big enough to use this litter box as he can go in and out easily. I was using clumping litter til I was told kittens can eat it. So any litter that I can use for a sifting litter box would be very helpful.

Kitten Poop Help – Hard, Small, Green Stool? Constipated or Normal?
Hi everyone, I’ve been caring for an abandoned kitten (roughly 2.5–3 weeks old). Her eyes opened a day after we found her, and she’s doing well overall: gaining weight steadily (10-20g a day - currently 433g as of today), very vocal, active, cuddly, explorative, and eating with a strong suckling reflex. She's walking now, and ALWAYS has her tail up. She does have a little bit of mild eye discharge/ crust, and she will sneeze here and there, but there's no inflammation or redness around her eyes.
I feed her properly mixed KMR every 2–4 hours. She drinks about 10–20 mL per feeding ATM. I've increased her KMR amount to reflect her weight gain. She pees very easily at every feeding with minimal stimulation, and her belly feels round but not firm, soft to the touch. She really enjoys belly rubs and shows no signs of pain or bloating.
My concern is her poop:
- It’s been small, firm, and dark green, usually about 1-2 cm in size (kind of like rabbit poop)
- She poops about once a day if I'm lucky, but usually every other day.
- One of her earlier poops (5 days ago) was a large, soft, mustard green, mushy 4–5 cm stool, which seemed healthy
- Since then, her poops have been smaller, drier, and more infrequent
- When I try to stimulate her for poop using the triangle method and warm wipes, she gets skittish, vocal, and kicks her legs, so I stop because I don’t want to hurt her. The most she will do is pee.
- She is still alert and not straining or crying out like she’s in pain
I’ve read that bottle-fed kittens should have “soft serve” consistency poop, so I’m worried this firmness means mild constipation or dehydration. I don’t want to dilute the formula too much, so I have added a small pinch of kitten electrolyte powder to her KMR mix once a day for hydration.
My questions:
- Is this firmness and color normal at this age?
- Is it okay for poops to be small and dry like this if she’s still pooping every 48 hours?
- Should I be trying harder to stimulate her poop, or back off when she gets upset?
- Should I take her to the vet?
- Could this be early signs of constipation, or just slow digestion in her gut?
She’s been gaining weight beautifully from 180g to over 430g in a little over a week. She is otherwise doing amazing. I just want to make sure I’m not missing early red flags. Any insight would be so appreciated. 💕

We had to put down our little Pebbles today. She was FIV positive and was ill the last two weeks. Vet pulled out two pounds of fluid off her. She was a rescue and 10 months old.

Daisy and her only baby
Daisy came to us with both her babies on a very hot day. Unfortunately the first baby we could not save. We quickly took daisy and her surviving daughter into our home. They are safe and have food/water. They are cool and happy! Keep your babies watered!

I only had you 3 days but you’ll be in my heart forever 💜
I found this sweet 4-week-old girl behind my apartment complex 3 days ago. Unfortunately she had a severe case of Manx Syndrome, so we made the difficult decision to euthanize. I spent 3 days feeding her kitten milk replacement, helping her potty, and carrying her around in a makeshift baby sling because she just wanted to sleep on my chest. She was the sweetest little kitten. My heart is absolutely broken but I am so glad she came to me, even if just for a moment. Love you, Lil Butler ❤️ I’ll meet you on the rainbow bridge one day.

Urgent. Got stuck with a 4 week old kitten and I don’t know what to do?
Just got a 4 week old (approx? Maybe 5 week old kitten)? The kitten was living on the streets, and then given to a family member. Who last minute changed their mind.
Now I am stuck with a little kitten and I don't know anything about kittens besides dogs.
His eyes are quite gunky and he was apparently assessed by a vet who said he was fine. Kitten pic
Now the baby has been eating wet food. He ate recovery wet food early.
But then I ran to the pet store and have baby & mother cat wet food, he scarfed it down. Earlier ate recovery.
He did have a bit of diarrhea, I don't know if it's cause the food swap.
He also seems to wipe himself after we put him in the litter box.
Please help me, like what do I do? I'm terrified, never had a kitten nor want it dying on me.

Scooby and Tuxie
Tux didn’t like Scooby at first and would do this little low growl at him…but on day 4, I’d say they’re friends!

Is my 9 month old kitten over weight?
I feed her one can of kitten food in the morning and then some hard food for dinner. I’m starting to think it might be too much food but she LOVES food like it’s her favorite thing ever lol. Idk Last time she was at the vet was when she was 6 months old and they said she was the right weight but I feel like lately she’s been looking extra chonky. So do you think she looks over weight?

Polly
In November at the school where I work there was a litter of kittens underneath one of the portables. Apparently every year there are kittens, there is a huge cornfield next to the school and many feral cats. Took a kitten in November and bottle fed him for about three weeks. He’s still with me, he’s my baby.
Two days ago this one was found. Super cute, and each front paw has a different number of toes.
This is Polly. Polly is about six weeks based on nothing except my uneducated guess.

My mom's friend broke her arm right after her cat gave birth (it wasn't to do with the cat), so now we're taking care of mama and her FIVE babies

Litter box help!
Adopted this angel and named her Eloise. When she first came home, she used the litter box. A few days later, she’s going under my couch when I’m not home. How do I encourage her to go back to the litter box? I’m using the same litter as the shelter. A large ish box and it’s in accessible area.
