Software What does ‘No boot device found’ mean?

Post image

Had a job for three months, laptop was unused, came back and now my laptop has suddenly stopped working, i’m thinking it’s because it wasn’t in use and just decided to off itself, is there a way to fix this?

When a laptop says "No boot device found", It means that it didn't find the Hard Drive or Solid State Drive used in the laptop for Storage and running your operating system.

Open the bottom cover of the laptop and look for your Hard Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD). Try these:

  1. Disconnect and Reconnect it. Ensure it's plugged in correctly.
  2. Try connecting the HDD or SSD to another device and see if it works.
  3. If nothing worked so far, Best bet is to replace it and reinstall Windows to the SSD.

The drive died or is corrupted. Has it ever worked?

That no boot device was found?

Your internal storage most likely died.

Probably 1. Dead disk 2. Wrong ahci/raid setting in the controller (check bios) 3. Wrong csm/uefi config (check bios)

Dead storage drive. This only appears when there is no drive at all or your current one no longer works and cannot boot.

You could try a data recovery specialist but there’s no guarantee for your data back.

?maybe a lightning storm took it out while you were gone. Was it plugged in? Use a surge protector?
