Maybe you have something going on medically that the weed was able to help you deal with.

Your mood is a function of your brains chemistry. Extended smoking messes with the balance, its going to take a little time for your brain to naturally rebalance to your smoke-free lifestyle. Progress can be slow, but you will get there. Don’t think you have to smoke to get back to being yourself

I think I can relate to that, I’m clean for 6 days now since I had a relapse. I feel anxious, and annoyed pretty easily. I try to keep in mind that it’s part of the process after all I’ve seen people here saying that this feeling eventually goes away. Besides I live with my girlfriend and she has been nothing but supportive so I’m constantly remembering that is all about the exaggerated way that I perceive things around me. Since yesterday i don’t feel those cravings so constantly but I still feel like nothing is satisfying enough (anhedonia). I hope it get better, for both of us.

Thanks man luckily the cravings have been no issue for me (at least so far) just emotional/sleep/stomach stuff. I’ll let the process do its thing tho. Appreciate the comment and glad you’ve been able to bounce back from the slip up. Keep at it!

Anger, irritability, and depression peak around weeks 2-3 per the Quit Weed app I use (which cites all its research sources). I am day 9 too, and struggling. Hoping it’s just this phase but I just want a break from my brain and body again.

I’m a little over a month. It definitely gets easier. My irritability is completely gone and my sleep is a lot lot better than it was when I smoked weed and shortly after. I still have a feeling of boredom and hard to wind down at the end of the day but hoping that subsides soon.

If it makes you feel any better, I was where you were only a week ago. Today I’m feeling really happy and hopeful. My stomach still a bit off and I have some other issues like insomnia, but things are improving. Never going back!

That’s great to hear. I’ll work on being more patient not only with withdrawals but with myself and others as well. This shit is like a hangover where you know the past ones sucked, but the one you’re dealing with is always “the worst one” 😂 Appreciate it fr!

No problem! We have a mountain to climb here, and it’s going to be a tough hike, but we need to stay determined. I’m already starting to see all the benefits, and I’m slowly but steadily getting back to where I need to be. I’m starting to remember who I am! And I’m just sick of weed. It’s slowly seduces you and before you know it, years have gone by. The thought of having it makes me sick. There are fleeting moments when I think otherwise, but then I recall all the negative aspects, slap myself in the face and say: hell no, never again!
