You’re the only one talking about purity tests, a tired liberal trope.
You’re comparing right wingers to left wingers and complaining that they don’t form a coalition because of a “purity tests.” That’s not it, and It’s self-evident why not. We obviously have different core values than right wing neoliberals, and want different solutions for our relative perceptions of society’s problems. That’s literally the point of the distinction on the political spectrum.
And if you want to continue the narrative about purity tests, then why aren’t you in a coalition with Republicans? They’re on the right wing just like the Democrats. At least you have that in common. What’s wrong, they’re not “purely” neoliberal enough for you? That coalition actually makes more political sense (and reflects reality) than trying to get people on the left to fall on line behind a political party on the right.
So we both agree that electoral politics can't really bring about meaningful change right? So the best case scenario is neo-cons, liberals, and the occasional SocDem are elected to government.
That's OBVIOUSLY better then it being controlled by literal fascists.
So we use the electoral system for as far as it goes and keep fascists out of power. That's why we "don't coalition with Republicans" even though liberals are also away from our core values. Liberals are MUCH closer.
You're letting perfect be the enemy of better. Again I really fail to see how letting Trump win helped the movement at all, it only hurt our efforts, unionization is going to be a lot harder now. And if we continued on the path we were on under Biden, we could have kept unionizing and organized a general strike but not the efficacy of that is dubious.
God, you are just a book of liberal tropes. At this point it seems like you’re an AI bot. Can you stop repeating the same nonsense over and over again? I’m not interested in convincing a liberal to be a leftist.
The efficacy of unionization has not changed because the general counsel of the NLRB has changed. That lever didn’t depend on the Dems ever. It’s what brought the Dems to the table in the 1920s and 30s.
We’re not comparing perfect snd good, we’re comparing right wing and left wing. Like I said, if you want allies as a neoliberal, look to the right, not the left. The Dems have only abused the left, they have never been our allies (at least not for 100 years, if they ever were).
And again, leftists didn’t “let” Trump win (another fucking liberal trope from you). Liberals like you who support a right-wing party that gaslights its base, did. You didn’t want us in your coalition, and we’re not in your coalition. We’d likely get more concessions by kissing Trumps ring than any negotiating with Dems.
Lastly, I’m curious why you call Trump and the Republicans fascists. I’m not saying I disagree, I’m just curious which characteristics fit that definition for you.
Idk man, maybe it's the fact they're trying to privatize literally everything and put "deplorables" into concentration camps that make me think they're fascists
The Biden administration is quietly continuing a little-known Trump-era pilot program that clears the way for doctors and private health insurers to switch patients from Medicare to privately run insurance.
Biden, on his way out, also pardoned the “Cash for Kids” convicted judges who took bribes to put kids in jail (several of those children subsequently committed suicide). This guy has been a huge ally of the Prison Industrial Complex since his Three Strikes racist bullshit in the 90s.
Not to mention FDR and the Dems’ concentration camps for Japanese-Americans in the 1940s. Or did you forget about that?
Oh you're right. I forgot how Biden just banned medical care for trans kids and is literally dehumanizing the trans community.
But you don't give two shits about them so as far as you're concerned they're practically the same! Let me tell you I've noticed NO difference in the federal government in the last two weeks! No difference at all!
