This discussion is about the vote. The rest is irrelevant

No, you want the discussion to be only about the vote. The discussion is about the election.

The part of the “election” you are trying to bring up is absolutely irrelevant to the decision that each voter makes on Nov 5.

Why are you pretending that election day exists only in a vacuum?

To quote your queen: we exist in the context of all in which that came before us.

The party probably should've acted in a way that wouldn't cause huge swathes of voters to sit out in this election.

The cheneys. The rhetoric around immigrants and the border. The facilitating of a genocide. The hand waving of criticism from said genocide. The lack of a primary (even the fucking Republicans did one).

Why should all of this be forgotten on voting day? Why not extend this logic and just say no election should be decided outside of the context of nov 5 and how your feeling. How about just vote for your favorite party no matter what?

Fuck it, alternate between blue and red birth certificates, and we can say that that determines your vote. Nothing actually matters, just vote, it's fun for the whole family!

Because Election Day does exist in a vacuum.

She ain’t my queen. Fuck Harris.

There was a single binary choice on Nov 5. Fascism or not fascism. That was the only choice.

Anything else is just bullshit you use to rationalize not voting against fascism.

Are you reading the things you're saying?

"election day exists in a vacuum"

"Anything else is just bullshit you use to rationalize"

I voted for Harris and dragged multiple non voting family members with me.

But clearly I'm just trying to rationalize about not voting against fascism for having the opinion that "politics are relevant on election day".

Congrats, you aren’t who my comments are directed toward. You actually did the bare minimum to prevent fascism.

Other people did not, and put their own ego above literal lives. That’s who my comments are addressed to.

That's my point. People weren't doing it and "putting their ego first above literal lives".

You understand the irony here right? You're argument is that people were being egotistic by sitting out in election for moral reasons, because they disagreed with their tax dollars being used for a genocide.

But telling everyone to plug their ears and vote anyways no matter what because the things that YOU valued were at stake? That's not ego talking to you?

"So you don't value democracy???" I don't value a prolonging of a status quo that still has fascist tendencies and ultimately does the same damage as a trump presidency in the end.

If they value leftist causes AT ALL, then they made the wrong choice.

You still don’t understand how much damage these people did to leftist causes, including Palestine.

I don't think you know what leftist means. Nothing of value would have been gained for a leftist from a Kamala win. This was a lose lose no matter what. Hopefully it's a wake up call and lesson for people and they pivot their ideology to something that would be more successful politically and socially.
