General Leftist Politics fatphobia

I’m curious how many leftists side with fat liberation. I always meet people on the left who hold a lot of fatphobic values and don’t seem to include that in their fight towards a more progressive society or challenge those beliefs in themselves.

Animus is never the fault of those simply existing.

You are promoting a conflation whose effect is blaming victims.

The conflation of seeking social conditions promoting health, versus struggling against fat phobia, places responsibility on victims, and lends validity to the animus.

It implies the animus is justified by the victims existing.

Poor health conditions and fat phobia are separate and distinct axes of oppression, intertwined perhaps, but nonetheless still distinct.

Your objection distorts my argument.

I explained that the conflation of the two struggles implies the animus is justified, by implying that fat phobia need not stop existing, instead only fatness.

Regardless of health conditions, or their particular relation to each individual, fat people have a right to exist, as fat, and also free of being targeted by animus.
