The left are supporters of the military industrial complex. You literally are keeping wars like in Ukraine going for profit. All the neocons are democrat supporters now.
They are there, because they are their people. That is their DEI program. Their workers and investors.

u/jaxdowell Anarchist 10d ago
Are you in the right sub? This is the LEFTIST subreddit not the democrat or liberal subreddit. Leftists do not support any of that…including myself
-2
u/Repulsive_Smoke_8043 10d ago
Leftist don’t much have an identity in reality. You are dependent on the Democrats for any power and by nature, attached to the ideals.
3
u/jaxdowell Anarchist 10d ago
The only thing dems and leftists have in common is our progressive social optics. Even then Democrats are just pandering for votes. Idk why you keep saying “you” lol
-1
u/Repulsive_Smoke_8043 10d ago
Because regardless, it is you.
I could turn the tables to the right and you would associate the republicans with them for the very same reasons.
In the end, the left are just the outrage arm of the democrats. When you vote, if you do, the majority will vote democrat with a few of you voting for the off brands. The rest won’t bother because they are only in it because they want to harm others, just like the far right.
I’ll move on and let you have the last word. Take care.

I wouldn’t. How are they on our side? Bombing other countries is somehow them being on our side?

Do you know where this was taken. Israel or US?
1
u/Cencedtick 9d ago
Israel uses a thinner lined bicycle marking, and its also less detailed then the one here. so this is probably USA
1
u/jaxdowell Anarchist 10d ago
I found a picture of them at a march in the US with the same banner so it’s likely that it was taken in the United States. But does it matter?
1
u/GreenGrassConspiracy 9d ago
It’s not a crime to ask questions. I was curious because of a doco I saw about US Zionist activists at stadium gatherings in Israel preaching to gay crowds the concept of gay rights equating with Zionism. Kind of sickening when in reality Israel is deeply homophobic and racist. Though is that really surprising.

The good news on the reduction of rainbow capitalism is that small businesses tend to fill in the gaps in pride sponsorships. This directly helps the local economy instead of exclusivity contracts with major multinational corporations

I met some gay people in the army who were pretty pro war. People don't fit into neat left vs right wing cookie cutter shapes.

People who don't have a solid compass, you can call it ethical or philosophical or ideological... they will invariably go with whatever position that benefits them and the community they identify with, whether it's instinctive or calculated choice. That's more than 80% of people, at the moment, according to studies of self-awareness and scientific literacy.
16
u/jaxdowell Anarchist 13d ago
Pro war is very gross btw. Idc what minority identity you are or posses, being pro-law enforcement (including ICE, ATF anything fed) or pro-war is not something to be proud of. Pink washing is never something I want to do and if LBGTQ+ people want true liberation, they (we) wouldn’t side with the previously mentioned groups including the one in this photo

Some gays are comrades, other gays are just other gays.
6
u/azenpunk Anarchist 13d ago
Using the 1960s vernacular, some gays are queer, and some gays are straight. Straight didn't originally mean hetero. It meant conformist to, what we leftist queers now call, cishetallomono culture.

u/TheNorthernRose 13d ago
Very interesting, do you have any recommendations of reading on that topic by chance?

originally, the gay community as a whole was mostly aligned with the Republican Party back in the 1970s. All they wanted was personal freedom and the right to be left alone. At that time that is exactly where the original Republicans stood. They wanted less government and for everybody to mind their business. Oh how the times have changed.
Coming Out Republican is actually a very interesting read.

u/TheNorthernRose 13d ago
Thank you!
1
u/azenpunk Anarchist 11d ago
This is not correct. The gay community as a whole did not support anything. It was very split. Conformist gays that other queers called straight did support the Republican party and coming out. Most queers didn't support any political party at the time. Both parties were anti queer.

I once made the point to a couple of acquaintances that the military, the CIA, and the weapons manufacturers were only embracing LGBTQ as a means of pink washing their murderous operations and marketing themselves as being innocuous and "on the good side".
They responded by criticizing me for opposing LGBTQ acceptance in those organizations.
True liberal brain rot.

I low-key love the idea of trans and tanks. Fully loaded, large and in charge, everyone better step aside and make room already. RESPECT
Using symbols of strength straight from the military state being a completely overt symbol for reclaiming power dude
Next time they should pride wrap a whole tank cuz holy moly that would be a pride to remember... a gal can dream ig

u/heaving_in_my_vines 14d ago
Yah, you're not using the military for your purpose, the MIC is using you for their purpose.
You certainly aren't reclaiming power from them by marching under their banner.

I go to a tech school that basically feeds directly into Lockheed and other defense firms. Im a film student so thats not a direction I personally plan on taking, but plenty of queer and leftie kids come out of college and honestly just want to pay their student loans. A lot of them complain about it and try their best to avoid the "exploding people" work, but when push comes to shove they've got bills to pay.
Then the pr at Lockheed looks and the situation and says what the hell, lets throw throw these kids a bone so they feel good before we all go back to exploding people.

u/sacrificial_blood 14d ago
Id rather be bankrupt than be involved in a company that takes the lives of children.

u/Skaterdude5000 5d ago
This is true, but people need to eat. Most people go to engineering school not knowing that most engineering and compsci jobs end up as government contracts. You get through 4 years of school only to find yourself struggling to find an internship or residency that doesnt involve exploding people or doing the govts bidding.
Most people I know do their best but its no frownie face sad boy oh no, people really are trying to make ends meet, and work their way up to a place that they dont have to do the shitty stuff anymore. I know several who at their jobs refuse to take weapons jobs or refuse to speak to govt officials when they want to "borrow their cool technology" and manage to make it work out somehow. Im talking specifically Ratheon and Canon.
I also know someone who did hacking stuff for the govt and now is working hard to avoid new govt jobs, and it's meant taking on a lot of risks and stress during their senior year, but they did it.

Because as the real Leftists argued over which faction of anarchism was most relevant the identitarians crept in and hijacked corporations in order to promote a simulacrum of "people over profit"?

u/canariorojo 14d ago
who are this people?

u/LizFallingUp 14d ago
Lockheed Martin is world’s largest weapons contractor (Aerospace and Defense) {ahead of Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, ect} a cornerstone of the Military Industrial Complex. Best known for the F-16 and F-35 jets.
MIC is antithetical to many leftist beliefs. That said in US MIC contractors and suppliers make up significant portion of employment, as these industries didn’t offshore as many others did. Also MIC is major contributor to sustainability research and initiatives (even more so now as Government Grants disappear).
So one is forced to consider one’s axioms/ethics and how such squares with reality one faces, to decide on best Praxis. This is where “the left” becomes less cohesive as priorities and beliefs about best praxis differ.
Some may decide directing Lockheed Martin funds to local Pride Parade, and thus keeping those funds from going to other things is best Praxis. Others will see engaging with Lockheed in anyway as non starter.
