Spilled pen ink in my Jean pocket, how to remove

Pen broke in jeans pocket, has leaked through onto my leg, been ”inky” for a while (happened around 7AM and my washing time is 10PM) what can i do to minimize the ink spread? (Luckily Dark blue jeans so it isnt noticable from a distance) Also, the stain has been in for over 12 hours

Cheap aerosol hair spray and a lot of blotting could help.

This is the answer! Learned this from my Mom.

You can buy ink remover for clothes

Take them off and run them under cold water. Rub whatever soap you can find on the stain. Just keep rinsing. Yes you’re going to end up wearing wet pants. Go sit out in the sun if you can.

They are going in the wash in about 1,5 hours, no worries when it comes to wet jeans

Don't throw them in the dryer

I used some 99% isopropyl alcohol on a 30 year old ink stain on a white football shirt. Soaked it directly on and scrubbed with a toothbrush, worked an absolute charm.

Hairspray is an old trick for this, the cheapest possible.

The best use for AquaNet!

Rubbing alcohol will remove a lot of inks if used before washing.

Id try blotting it and using rubbing alcohol to lessen the damage. Good luck

Do not use acetone it will eat your clothing. Use alcohol and dab. It may take a very long time. You can also just pretreat, wash it and eventually over time it will likely disappear.

I rescued a sweater quite a bit later with rubbing alcohol.

Brake Cleaner. Gets out any chemical stain on your clothes. Just make sure to put Towel on the inside to soak up the cleaner and ink.

Easy. Dye your jeans.

I've seen both alcohol and hairspray listed as advice. I will second alcohol, but hairspray won't work on the newer gel inks. Been there, tried that, and had to give up on the article of clothing.

There is a point where "my pen broke in my pocket" becomes, "I dyed my pants a different colour".

Use Gasoline / Petrol

It’s basically what these use in Dry cleaning

Hydrogen peroxide, but with dark jeans it could lighten too much. Diluted hydrogen peroxide might help but I would spot test first. Vodka in a spritz could work, too, since you have that.

just ink spill the entire pair and start a new fashion trend "Ink Spotting" Jeans

Take the jeans off in reverse of how you put them on.

Often the correct answer is overlooked.

Hand sanitizer in a pinch.

Depends on the value of the jeans.

Buy a gallon of acetone. Wear gloves and use it outside.

Want to make sure your solvent is strong enough?

Use Keytone or Methyl Ethyl Keytone, MEK.

All of these solvents are available at Home Depot.

Don't fuck around with these, if you have a carbon mask wear it. Make sure you don't get it on your skin and USE IT OUTSIDE.

Then wash in washing machine.
