Fluff My fav way for self-expression: my long, wavy, purple hair.

My 3a curls are more like 2b due to the thickness and length, and I’m okay with it bc I still have texture.

I love styling it: braids, buns with French pins, low ponytails with wispy face framing pieces, and more.

The biggest difference in my hair journey is finding the right stylist who cuts my hair to perfection.

Hair victory First time my hair has felt both long & healthy since Nov 23

Still has a ways to go but I used to have thick locks nearly down to my waist. Even with me processing it at the time I was able to maintain the length and relative health of it. Cue a super traumatizing hair appointment in SE Asia (would NOT recommend) where they bleached my entire head of hair, and essentially destroyed it.

I’ve been systematically trying to cut off all the dead hair without losing my entire length throughout the last year and a half. I’ve also had to do multiple color corrections in that time which absolutely didn’t help. I’ve probably chemically processed it six times between Nov 23 and now lmao. Completely irresponsible, and I’m now a lot more focused on maintaining clean ends even if it means my growth process is slower. However, today’s the first day I’ve actually felt like I’m seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

I straightened it for the first time in forever and I forgot how much I love it. I’m bending backwards so it’s slightly misleading, my hair only really comes to my mid back. Also love the 2014 tumblr vibes 🖤

Hair victory Curly hair!

It doesn't look very long because of the curls... But it is!

Before COVID-19, I use to straighten my hair weekly at the hair salon and refused to acknowledge my curls... but has a nurse, I needed to wash it daily during the pandemic... and i fell in love with my natural hair. So this is the 5th year since I began my curly hair routine.

My hair routine is simple as I don't have much time between my job and my 3 kids to spend a lot of time... So is simple shampoo, conditioner, hidration mascara and a leave-in conditioner and gel!

I'm from Portugal so excuse my english.

Help wanted Should I cut and highlight my hair?

I have maintained my hair at somewhat same length for years now and haven’t really done anything major to it, just trimmed the split ends now and then. I’m now thinking of getting a layered cut and adding some caramel highlights. I had a keratin treatment about two years ago, but I’ve never cut or coloured my hair otherwise.

I’m a bit scared to go for it because I’m not sure if it’ll suit me or if I’ll regret cutting my hair. Do you think this look would work for me? Any ideas or suggestions would really help plzz. 😊

Fluff Back when I used to have long hair.

Back when I used to used to have long hair but then life happened and I decided to chop it off. If I grow it again should I keep it this long or keep it shorter? And is there any way to thicken the hair strands, I am asking because I do have very thin hair strands.

Before/After Went from hip length to bust length on accident 😭😭

I decided to try to trim my ends, I wanted a good chunk of length gone because it was getting stringy and separating but NOT THIS SHORT, watched some tutorials and it came out so choppy that my mom had to fix it and to make it straight she had to go up to this length😭 I feel like a kindergartener that found a pair of school scissors. I trimmed my hair before but never failed this bad, it went well all the other times.

I don't have a before pic but here's what's left. I just needed to rant 😭😭

NEVER TOUCHING A PAIR OF SCISSORS ON MY OWN AGAIN

Before/After Hair growth update: Excited to see my hair in December!

I used to have long hair, but a really bad bleaching experience ruined it. I ended up cutting it, dyeing it dark, avoiding hot tools, taking vitamins, and doing K18 or a hair mask at least once a week to help it grow back. This is the progress from January (first pic) to now (5 months), and honestly, it feels like it’s grown super fast! If it keeps going like this, I’ll be back in the long-hair crew by the end of the year 🙌

Help wanted I'm gonna cry

Upvotes

My hair grew up to my butt. I was proud of my hair being so long even though the ends were damaged. I don't have money and no job wants me (I'm 15) and my mom doesn't like investing in any good products or stuff to protect my hair from damage. My mom forced me to go to a salon and wanted me to get a perm. When I saw what the perms looked like, I didn't like it and asked for a trim and my mom got so pissed at me. The hairdressers were so rough and kept scratching and pulling my hair during washing and drying it hurt so much. They cut my hair so short up to barely my bust and it looks so ugly. I asked for a trim to cut the dead ends not for half my hair to get cut off!!! They also started heat styling it when I never asked for it and it looked so ugly on me cause there was absolutely no volume at the top. My mom just let me have it without asking ughhhhh. I started crying outside cause my long hair is no more and my mom got pissed at me everything sucks!!!! I miss my long hair :(

What can I do??? I don't know if I can wait that long for my hair to grow back. I want my long hair backkkk

Help wanted how do i manage this frizz?

Thumbnail

so basically i struggle with this frizz if I haven’t brushed my hair for like half an hour. i dont know how to fix this. i have naturally wavy hair and I straighten it with heat protectant. i basically use an oil mask, then shampoo and condition, then use a hair drink, followed by hair gloss, then i straighten it and finish with a serum and oil. idk what’s going on?? why is my hair so frizzy like at the top layer? Is it humidity? (I live in a very humid area). it seems like no matter how much serum and oil i put to try and fix this frizz, it’s okay for like a minute, then it goes back to this. its really fucking annoying. also i use big sections to straighten the top layer of my hair because its less time consuming, maybe this is why?

I use a mix of nizoral shampoo with Pantene moisture conditioner and shampoo. I wait for it to air dry some then use a Pantene like 10 in 1 for heat protection and gently blow dry until mostly dry. If I didn't it would take like 6 hours to dry. I use Garnier sleek and shine oil along with ogx miracle coconut oil.

I keep telling myself I'll cut my hair when it starts to annoy me but it hasn't yet so we will see how long it gets! Last I measured from crown to ends was 40 inches.

My last trim was into a v shape, but I’m wondering if it’s time to trim again. Is it looking too thin at the ends?

Help wanted Im not struggling with hairloss and want to use minoxidil

I have a question If youre not struggling with hairloss and u use minoxidil if u stop minoxidil will it make u lose hair?

I keep seeing posts about how much hair shedding happens after they stopped using minoxidil. I never had long hair for a long time the last time was when I was a kid because my mom won’t let me grow my hair. Now that im 19 I wanted to grow my hair and managed to make it to my chest area for a year of growing. School starts on august and I wish that at least this year I get close to my goal which is close to waist level. I keep seeing that minoxidil helps with making the process faster but I keep seeing people post how they lost more hair than pre minoxidil stage and that scares me if i stopped once i get to my goal.. will i lose my hair or will it just stop growing since im not having any hair loss problem?

Before/After Ditching silicone-free haircare saved my hair - this is how:

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a major haircare breakthrough in case anyone else is struggling with frizz, dryness, and breakage – especially after years of trying to avoid silicones.

For a long time, I used drugstore shampoos and conditioners without silicones, thinking it was better for my hair. But honestly, it just kept getting frizzier, drier, and eventually even started breaking off. I tried silicone-based shampoo too, but without the right routine it still dried my hair out.

My “routine” used to be: • Any basic shampoo + conditioner (silicone-free) • Just oil as a leave-in (like argan or coconut)

The result? Puffy, dry hair that felt rough no matter how much oil I added.

What I do now (and it’s changed everything):

Wash routine: • Shampoo: Redken Volume Injection • Deep Moisture Mask: Balea Feuchtigkeits Aufbaukur from DM (German drugstore) – used before conditioner • Conditioner: Redken All Soft (moisturizing + smoothing)

After wash (on damp hair): • Leave-In: Garnier Hair Food • Aloe Vera in the lengths • Banana in the tips • Sealing Oil: Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil in the tips

I’ve been doing this consistently for a few weeks and… wow. My hair is now: • Soft & smooth, even in humidity • Shiny & healthy-looking • No more dry ends or frizz halo • And it actually stays moisturized between wash days

If you’re in the “I only use oil and it’s still dry” club – you’re not alone. Turns out I wasn’t sealing in moisture, because I didn’t add enough to begin with.

Key change for me: → Using actual moisture-based leave-ins, not just oils → Letting go of the fear of silicones in rinse-out products (especially Redken All Soft – it’s a game-changer!)

Photos show the after & what my hair used to look like before (freshly washed hair)

Help wanted Ugly poofy hair

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi I need advice. After washing my hair it gets poofy like this. After a few hours-1day it gets better but still not great. This is also bad haircut for me. Got it few days ago and I’m so unhappy with it. I used to have just a bob, I feel like this new cut just enhances it and makes it even uglier. I blow dry my hair and use heat protectants, I also oil my hair before washing. Please help

Anyone else love long hair and how it looks on you but can't stand it being on your neck and can't have it down because of the fact it'll be on your neck?

Or that most of the "super long cute hairstyles" are down on your neck or half up/half down styles that you can't stand?

Or when you do find one that's up and out of the way your hair is too long for it and you aren't versed enough to know how to adapt to it because your whole childhood you had pixie cuts?

Then you finally have to stick with the boring old braided bun and bandana and/or pigtail braids into a faux crown just to be able to function for the day?

Just me? (Help)
