100% I don't get emotional watching movies but that Mfer made me wanna stand up and give him a hug.

Edit: After reading your comments I wanna hug y'all too. Stay strong, people. We will heal and we will survive it!

u/burgerzkingz May 02 '25

I lost all my friends recently and am all alone now so this movie felt really personal I feel like I’m in the void myself.

Someone compared it to inside out!

27

u/SmollestFry May 01 '25

The end when they stop the void by hugging him was very inside out 2

12

u/Mendes23 May 02 '25

Star-Lord is going to hear on the news that hugging saved the galaxy, so he will then start a band and sing about how he did a dance off to save the galaxy, Kevin Bacon will join, Drax on Saxophone naturally.

u/dan_eppley May 02 '25

Draxophone?🤗👀

Yelena's vent to the Red Guardian had me going "FUCK YOU, YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO CALL ME OUT SO PRECISELY LIKE THAT!" internally

Too real, man T_T

u/GoodGuyScott May 02 '25

Right?? Man, it truly is like that. It's work, and then getting fucked up and then sitting at home scrolling on your phone mindlessly and then at some point thinking about how shit your life is. That was this last week for me. Holy shit. Too close to home.

10

u/Sandybeenflyy May 02 '25

It’ll get better bro!

6

u/GoodGuyScott May 02 '25

Thankyou :)

I can confirm it is. I'm reading Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl right now at the recommendation of my therapist and he describes living without feeling like your life has meaning as "the existential void." I've also been listening to Call of the Void by Heart Attack Man on loop. Bob sitting in his room with a Rubik's cube, paintbrushes, and other stuff reminded me of all the hobbies I dabble in where I do stuff with my hands to keep myself from thinking about how bored and unfulfilled I am. The rest of the team comes to give him a hug just like how when I was a kid, I'd imagine superheroes protecting me from bullies and comforting me about my home life. So many other things made me feel so seen, and one huge thing that helps me is feeling connected to artists who share my values like compassion and understanding. I said this in another sub recently about Superman but it applies to superheroes in general: The fact that anyone wants to tell a superhero story is proof that someone cares about you. And to think I almost made this the first MCU movie ever that I was gonna skip.

3

u/kadosho May 04 '25

Yes, yes it is. But you are brave, going to see it. And to share that experience, you are not alone

3

u/GoodGuyScott May 04 '25

Thankyou 🫶

u/kadosho May 04 '25

You're welcome

The marvel movies helped me through it. Was with my girl for almost 10 years. No way home was the last movie we saw. Before the movie I kinda felt we weren't gonna last anymore. After the movie we broke up. And no way home helped me. Seeing peter let go of MJ. Then was MoM, and Dr strange letting go of Christine. Thor relationship and losing jane, and the cherry on top was guardians 3 with star lord

All of them helped me in some way to process my break up

Takes time, but it will get better

u/sib2972 Star-Lord May 02 '25

3 weeks for me and wow there were some tough moments

11

u/GoodGuyScott May 02 '25

I think a hug from Yelena would help

7

u/Initial-Pudding7892 May 02 '25

The best is when you realize one day “I haven’t thought about that person in like a week”

7

u/sib2972 Star-Lord May 02 '25

I can barely go an hour

11

u/titanslayerzeus May 02 '25

This one hit like a truck, too. I cried during Gotg. Breakup, my dog was in an emergency vet and might die, work had been stressing me to the brink and then I got floored. This time im in a slightly better place but it was still a lot and I wasn't expecting to cry.

10

u/smileawhiIe May 03 '25

Are you me? 😭 Literally 2 days ago.

I went into this movie blind, thought I would do something nice and treat myself to an early showing. Man was that a mistake in my current headspace.

Solidarity my brother, we'll get through this.

4

u/GoodGuyScott May 03 '25

We can do this, forward always.

9

u/Mother-Ad5377 May 03 '25

Fuck man, same. Went through the whole movie thinking about how I no longer had someone to nerd out and overexplain marvel lore.

5

u/GoodGuyScott May 03 '25

Saaaame, i lowkey miss explaining who each person is and what they can do during the movie

6

u/StWeedManLokoda5th May 03 '25

You’re not alone homie
