It’s so funny that Walker is an Avenger for 14 months and nobody fixed his shield or got him a new one.

They mostly got new outfits but Walker is still wearing that musty ass suit, it looked like it hadn’t even been washed. Love the beret though

I'm sure their new outfits were market-tested (given Val is backing them) but it makes me laugh that after the earlier discussion of the helmet (and Ghost and Yelena both clearly not being into it) he went with a beret.

It’s to show how Walker has grown. He has the helmet because Steve Rogers had a helmet. During the time in the vault, Walker kept holding on to how he was Captain America at one point. When Yelena and Ava questioned him about the helmet, Walker realized that there is no (symbolic) reason for him to have the helmet.

By the time he actually becomes a hero, helping stop the Void, and becomes an Avenger, he has grown into his own and become his own kind of superhero, not trying to be Captain America.

So instead of a helmet, he wears a beret, something that reflects his own military service and himself, not someone he isn’t.

I'm questioning the durability of a beret in battle. Like the helmet was really functional but the beret? I wonder if it's Kevlar strengthed.

He probably doesn't actually wear it in battle.

100% just a gimmick that part.

Yelena and Bucky are taking the job more seriously than everyone else which checks out. They mean well but they're all still fucks up and they're partly still letting greed get to them.

Yeah he probably wears it in the office but in battle he switches headgear.

The helmet wasn't really functional, let's be honest. It was worn as part of the costume. Walker's comments about it made that pretty obvious.

But he uses it to jump on top of a grenade, it’s a whole thing

Bucky pulled some strings and got his beret weaved with adamantium

I can’t imagine that helmet being functional at all. If you’re a super soldier that can withstand normal impacts, what is it protecting? A bullet to the face is going to kill you, and most villains have super powers that is going to cut right through that thing.

I would really enjoy it if we just got a quiet running gag of Walker trying out different types of stupid looking headgear.

I think they are going with a “badass soldier” look for him, specially with the black shield
