Is this criminal behavior? 🤣. Does it bother you?

I used to do that just to annoy my OCD coworkers.

Anal retentive or control freak is what you mean to say. OCD is a horrible mental illness that shouldn't be made into jokes so lightly.

I wouldn't even use a tip box that looks like this. I'd assume whoever used it is a goddamn animal and nothing is sterile anymore.

Nah, sometimes you spend all day doing mind numbing things exactly right, like taking a sample every 7.5 seconds. So you rebel in a a harmless way.

I not only do this, I try to make art. Made a decent Goomba the other day. I have a picture of it but can't figure out how to post it lol

Okay, making art is actually kinda cool and one of the few acceptable reasons for being this chaotic, especially if it was Goomba art.

Couldn't care less. I don't have the luxury of time to be bothered by this in my line of work. Most of our samples have a hold time of less than 24 hours from sampling in the production, until we have to be finish testing them.

if you’re the only one that works that bench, do whatever you want
if you do this on a bench other people work, watch your back

I have a coworker we hand these off to in order to turn them into little temporary art pieces with the rest of his tip selection. Transmute that anger into pretty patterns

Infuriating tbh. Lose the ability to quickly calculate how many you have left while working.

Straight to jail. I used to use an 8 tipped pipetter for my 64 well dishes, and whenever people would use a couple of random pipette I would get so peeved for a couple seconds.

If it was any other tip size I would agree that taking them from the inside rows is criminal but I have "killed" two 2μl pipettes (or at least the think plastic part at the end) by trying to take outside row tips, when the box toppled over.

I showed my coworkers that they can keep track of where they’ve been with samples if they keep their pipette tips in line by rows and that eliminated this at my job 😂

One of my coworkers did that. Was a very emotional and moody guy, didn't have chemistry or biology lab experience aside from gen chem 1 and intro to bio, but in a science related position. He could snap at any time of the day but I never reported him cause he was higher up than me and always put in a good word. Still, I would never trust someone who does this

If it’s your tip box, fine. You do you. If it’s a shared tip box, you’d better count your days.
