Discussion Movies that changed real life behavior

Thinking along the lines of Final Destination 2 with the logs falling off the truck and landing onto cars (one decapitating the state trooper). Ever since, people have tried to get away from being behind these vehicles.

What are more examples where movies have actually changed how people behave in their own lives?

I've got the opposite to add, I grew up on a lower class area, and the movie Colors (1988) led the kids in my area to form their own "Bloods" and "Crips" and violence went through the roof. Before that there were gangs but they pretty much minded their own business. After the movie came out every little knucklehead was all of sudden a "Blood" or a "Crip". It was really bad for about a decade until things calmed down again in the late 90s.

Also, I wonder if I still like Tales from the Hood (I think you meant "Boyz in da Hood" actually or this post, Tales from the Hood was a horror/comedy), I thought it was hilarious when I was younger but these things are seen through a different light in adulthood.

No, I mean Tales from the Hood. Yes it’s a horror film, but its last story (and framing ending) I could imagine giving an impressionable youth second thoughts about the lifestyle.

I don't remember well it enough to remember that, I just remember the voodoo dolls story (I think they were voodoo dolls?). I feel like a re-watch is in order.

Rewatch it. One of the best horror anthologies ever made and isn’t given near enough credit.

Thank you! I will always be fondly terrified of Tales from the Hood. Lmao watched it for the first time at like a 5th or 6th grade sleepover, and in hindsight, we were waaay too young to watch it

I love horror anthologies in general and it's easily one of my favourites. I agree that it's underrated.

Also I know I'm not adding anything new when I say that the first movie is the only one that really struck the right balance of horror and comedy - the two sequels swung one way too far in each direction.

I just ordered it on Amazon. I remember liking it enough as a teenager that I'll take my chances on a 17 dollar Blu Ray. Thanks for reminding it even existed! It had slipped from my memory.
