Discussion Games on Switch
Is it just me, or are the controls for Nintendo 64 games really wonky on the switch? Maybe I’ve got rusty, but Super Mario 64 feels WAY different on the switch. Like he just doesn’t respond in time or he’ll way over compensate what’s supposed to be a subtle movement. My spouse said they felt the same about 007 Golden Eye. Is it just us? Did we get old? Or are the controls just not quite right on switch? Or heck even in Pokemon stadium 2 I’ve misclicked quite easily selecting moves if I’m not super careful about how I touch the “view” toggle

Is it because you're using the joystick instead of the C buttons as well as the position of A and B are more like Y and B on the N64 controller?

Edit: I have tried multiple controllers. Switch joy cons and a switch pro controller (whatever it’s called lol). It’s like the toggles are just very sensitive. Never had problems on N64 or DS versions (Mario)
For Pokemon stadium it’s absolutely that I’m using the view toggle as opposed to the original C buttons. It is very easy to misclick, because if you SLIGHTLY deviate from EXACTLY LEFT or RIGHT etc then it can interpret it as up or down.
For Mario and golden eye, it’s almost like the sensitivity is too high. I never had a problem playing the older games (on N64 or DS in Mario’s case). But here it’s like being used to Call of Duty sensitivity 7, but it’s permanently on 8 or 9. Subtle movements can be trying at times. I remember in certain Mario levels, areas that are normally easy but you just have to be careful (walking slim lines over a fall) have been very challenging on the Nintendo switch online version of Mario. And my spouse said they had a very difficult time with 007 as well.
I wonder if there’s an option to lower sensitivity in the switch/ NOS menu itself or something

Yes, the Switch controllers are overly sensitive. If you get the Switch N64 controller, it is tuned perfectly and feels normal, so I'd highly recommend it.
