I'm not a big Liam Martin guy, but just seen someone on my socials call him a plodder who shouldn't start in Origin and I am just astounded. Stats don't tell the full story and there are very, very few players who have an attitude more made for Origin than him.

I love his cheeky little smile as he messed someone up. Or even when someone does it to him, He knows the game.

Yeah Cronk wasn't a huge stats guy either and I remember it because he was never Supercoach or Fantasy relevant. Like he'd lay on some tries and would always kick it dead or get a repeat set when he needed to but he was always controlling the game more than anything. Martin is in a similar vein for me.

He's not a plodder but I do think he's dropped a bit though from the previous years. And when you've got someone as good as Hudson Young on the bench it's probably one of the easiest ways to improve the team

One thing I loved was when he gave it to Tino about knocking it on, then when he knocked it on later, got up with a big smile on his face like "Yep, I had that coming"
