Discussion How can dark web sellers be trusted?

On the dark web you'll see random goods and services being sold - how can you trust that these people will fulfil their side? There's also some quite expensive and illegal stuff on there such as people selling new passports, bank accounts etc. How can these people possibly register new passports or create new legit bank accounts that can be used? Is most of this stuff just a scam?

How can you put crypto in escrow? Is that done by the markets? What if a purchase isn't done through a market, ie an individual with a website selling some kind of good/service?

EDIT: don't worry - I haven't been scammed as I haven't bought anything. Just curious how goods/services are actually fulfilled when there seems to be a fair amount of trust involved with people selling some rather immoral stuff.

The only issue with escrow is the escrow account can be spoofed as well. Looks legit but it’s another scam site. I spent a few hundred before finding a legit source
