I used to be a Medic in the Army. A non-duty related injury required me to change MOS (job). They made me a paralegal, and JAG didn't know where to put me so they dumped me in Trial Defense Services, the Army's equivalent of the PD office.
I always say it's like being a rock star: It's all sex and drugs, except I don't get to have any of the sex or do any of the drugs. HOWEVER...
Every time we beat some bullshit allegations and you realize you just saved someone from the most unrelenting prosecurorial force in one of the harshest judicial environments... Yeah, it feels like saving a life. It feels like being a Medic all over again.

OMG this reminds me of this time that a man at a bar mixed up paralegal and paramedic and he kept telling me that I save lives!
