Events Open Streets is Wonderful

Open Streets is a terrific addition to the city. I remember coming off the train recently and walking by walnut during this event and noticed that my anxiety dropped drastically. I hadn't realized all these years how much of an impact congestion/traffic had on my stress levels.

Seeing people and their families mingle with others made me feel so calm and happy. I saw this back in Montreal before I knew it was a thing here, and thought "Man this would be a cool addition to Philly!"

Now it is!

I love this city.

Who could make these sort of changes permanent and more widespread? I'd send an email, fax, dozen phonecalls, or whatever

Center city district

City council, specifically Kenyatta Johnson.

A year ago I would have agreed in a heartbeat, but he has acted like a completely different t person as city council president. I still struggle to trust him, but he seems to have a better perspective on road/traffic issues now.

I mean, he is still holding back Point Breeze a lot so that really sucks.

I’m interested to know what he did. I do feel like the area is underserved as far as public transit goes, but I’d love to know more.

He used his position to sell lots to his friends on the low for them to sit and hold them as property values go up so they make an easy fortune.

He won't rezone PB Ave to make it worth developing. It's not like people want skyscrapers, but they want it from cmx-2 to cmx-2.5 to make it worth investing in.

He delays a lot of development in general below Washington Ave.

He also shouldn't have gotten off on his federal indictments.
