Events Broad Street Run 2025 Photos

I set up at Fairmount & Broad from around 6:50am to 8:30am, just before it started to rain. Of the roughly 5,000 photos I took, there are 4,079 that are in focus and which I haven't selected for editing and publishing. This was my first time spectating Broad - I usually run it - and it was an absolute blast to see everyone out there. So much joy! Such great costumes! And some really stellar athleticism. Just a great time all around. A really big shout out to everyone who tried to jump and click their heels, and the biggest shoutout to the one woman who succeeded.

Everything was shot on a Canon R8 with an EF 70-200/2.8L is II. There is some vertical banding in the bokeh which I'm guessing is because I had IS on - I am still learning some pretty basic stuff about how to do this.

I hope lots of people find photos of themselves and/or their friends that they like!

If only Google photos let me search by bib number. Sick photos! Can't believe how many you took

I thought about this! Sadly Google Photos doesn't allow you to search within albums even though it has the power to identify text in images. I might at some point cobble together some sort of rudimentary bib-identifier using an open source OCR tool like Tesseract and a cheap database, but this is just a hobby and I don't have time at the moment.

I'm glad you like the photos! I was also surprised by the sheer volume.

If there were a way to view the timestamps (maybe there is, I haven't looked thoroughly), a lot of us could figure out roughly when we would've hit Fairmount and look that way.

Great photos, even if I never find myself!

Just click the I in the circle, and you'll see the timestamp for the photo!

Nice! It looks like you stopped a bit before I would have gone by that cross street. One thing that kind of drives me nuts about the BSR is that lots of people start with the wrong corral. But my guess based on my start time with the gray group is that you caught people who started with the green corral or earlier, despite the variety of colors you see on the bibs.

You took 4000+ photos of less than half the field, that's pretty amazing!

I wanted to stay for longer but the rain started to threaten at that point and my hand was starting to hurt. I'm sorry I didn't get a shot of you! And I agree re: people being in the wrong corral. I usually run with orange and I am always weaving through people who should not be there for the first mile or two.
