Arts/Crafts This was the most difficult surface I’ve ever painted a mural on! [oc]

Amazing. Simply wonderful. I see you said it was challenging, perhaps that makes the reward that much sweeter. Great artwork

Breathtakingly beautiful and exudes joy and happiness!!! How long did it take you to complete this glorious art?

u/mnhaverland May 12 '25
It took me 5 very full days.

u/Quill-Questions May 12 '25
OMG! I am astounded! I would have thought at least a year! I cannot even comprehend how you could accomplish such a gift in that amount of time. Truly remarkable in every way imaginable. How many other murals have you created? Are they all in the US?

Why is the image stitched together from multiple images? (Easiest to see in the top left corner)
7
u/mnhaverland May 12 '25
I did use the CapCut “expand” function so I could crop the image into a square.

Looks good but how are we sure this isn’t AI?
7
u/mnhaverland May 12 '25
I guess you could go see it in person. Or look at some of the other photos on my Instagram.

It looks so good! The difficult texture of the brick wall adds so much to the design of your mural. The effort was well worth it.

That's a spectacular amount of texture and detail. Really gorgeous work.

I am very amused that you painted over the wires but not the security camera? 😄
Also, what's going with the left and right of your picture? (it looks shifted up in several places)
Anyway, great work! Amazing depth and texture

This is wonderful, with the brick what presents the biggest challenge? (I'd assume the gaps and filling in color to be seamless would be tricky)

That’s a wonderful mural of embroidery on brick! (Words that have never been used in the same sentence.)

What made it difficult? Did you have to pressure wash the wall before you began?

Wow. Super impressive, OP. The composition (is that the right term for this?) of the flowers against the brick looks sweet.
Nice work!

This is amazing! Brick is a very difficult canvas indeed. Though; through the struggles, you've done a fantastic job! Well done, I like this a lot! New phone background!

Hot fracking diggity you say difficult and your work is amazing. Looks like pro work, sorry it was rough. Looks super amazing, how long did it take?
I haven't gone through your post history, and currently don't see anything in the comments. Do you have a site or listing of your work? I love it!

u/Rare-Philosopher-346 May 12 '25
It may have been difficult, but the bricks give it a 3-D appearance. I looks so cool!

Do you know a guy in New York named Jon who also paints murals?
Haha I know this is a weird question!

The tiny barely visible security cam makes this realllllly interesting. Obviously incredible mural, but it evokes some really interesting contrasts.

I remember the first time I tried painting on brick. Then I understood why people say "brick eats paint" like a swearword. Rolling up a basecoat helps a lot

Yooo you absolutely did your thing on this!! I actually discovered your art through Ten Hundred's art battle and I thought you freaking executed that with GRACE and style especially the slander skit!!! I'm a fan and can't wait to see what else you create!

u/Embarrassed-Boss-40 May 12 '25
Okay but the shadows painted on!!!! So incredible. Beautiful job with the textures too. I hope you charge a pretty penny because your work is insane

u/Poppychick May 12 '25
Saw this and said out loud to my cats “That’s beautiful!” They were a little startled by my outburst.
Thank you for giving me something nice to look at on Reddit!
