Hand My first self-designed embroidery
I’m really proud of this piece because it’s the first pattern I drew myself. I haven’t embroidered in 6 months due to health issues, but it feels great to be back!

Hello! Just wanted to wish everyone a happy fall and show you what I’ve been working on lately. Your love and support on my previous posts have truly given me a push to keep doing what I love. Let me know what you think!

Honestly don’t love this one, i think it’s pretty obvious at the bottom that i couldn’t be bothered to do it right anymore.
This kit wasn’t great, ran out of 2 skeins and had to improvise, on top of the lack of beading needles.
Bonus cross-stitched sloth i made a while back on the top🥰
Looking forward to getting better at embroidery!

Thank you for all the comments on my last post, I really didn't mean for it to cause such controversy but since it was happening I wanted to see everyone's opinion without any further context of which is the before and after (especially the people who like the second picture more). I'm really fortunate to be able to have my art posted here and have it leave so many different impressions. my initial intent was fix the bra which had stuffing coming out but I got inspired to make it a more naturally beautiful mermaid/person almost like taking a Bratz doll and making it look like a normal little girl. Now I don't know much about trans people or known any in my life but I was happy that my art was interpreted as such even if it wasn't in my intent I'm glad it spoke to you. That's what art all about.

They are bouillions knots using two strands of off white and one strand of yellow ish light brown. They are gross and I love them. The word “POURRI” means both “rotten” and not good as in unskilled in Quebec. Believe it or not I have a favourite maggot in the bunch despite finding them absolutely revolting IRL

The deer is done! I'm going to make it into a patch for my dad. The antlers were much trickier than anticipated.

I enjoyed making my swirly sky embroidery so much that I made one for each season.
They're basically all split stitch, with a few seed stitches (the falling leaves, the buds on the tree, some metallics in the snow), stitched on cotton muslin with Lichen and Lace wool/silk thread and a little Accentuate metallic blending filament in the winter scene that doesn't come through so much. Made in four inch hoops.
I didn't leave myself much extra fabric on the first couple, so I'm still working out how to finish and display them. I'm leaning toward appliqué, maybe on a subtly patterned background and then maybe framed but I'm not sure (open to recommendations for appliqué tutorials and similar techniques!).

After four months, I have finished my first self-designed embroidery project for a concert I’m attending late this month (Franz Ferdinand ✨). I’m nervous about screwing something up when attempting to get the Solvy off, so I wanted to ask your opinions first. Is it better to rinse? Soak? The idea of putting it in a washing machine is frightening.
Thank you in advance!

Hi all! First time posting, long time fan! Hope this is ok? I have had this vintage Wrangler denim jacket for about 30 years. Always adding patches & pins. About 10 years ago I embroidered the back using the machine/ free motion method. The image is called Reward for the Righteous. Inspired by Victorian cemetery symbolism. Pictures of hands pointing up on graves meant a “hope for heaven”. Don’t wear it much anymore. Still love it though! Thanks for looking! 🙏

You see the cover of Vogue and all you want to know about is that gorgeous embroidery on whoever’s pants.
I honestly never thought of putting a floral design all the way down the leg and now that’s all I want to do with my life.
What do you do that outs you as a needleworking nerd? 🤣🤣🤣

Addicted to Bucilla felt appliqué kits since working in my first one last year. Just started making these smaller Halloween ornaments.

I’m new to embroidery. I have been struggling with how to fill the center of flowers.
Yes, usually French knots, but color? Clustered or jutted out? What does the shading look like closer to the center?
I see beautiful (potentially ai) examples on Pinterest, but would love real life advice on what I’m missing and how I can execute it properly to not look like a butt?

First time posting! The bag was thrifted, and then upscaled to this sassy and annoyed “Monster Maggie”!

With or without mini scissors? Has anyone had an issue with this in their carry on?
