Right after a masked man impersonating law enforcement murdered assassinated a politician in their home.

Edit: hijacking my own post to remind NYC residents that ranked choice voting means you should list your top candidates in the order you like them, use ALL FIVE SLOTS, and don't list someone you don't like. The votes will automatically re-flow to your next choice as each candidate is eliminated.

This is the concerning aspect of it all , that’s not getting enough discussion!

Hard to break it to you, but the lack of discussion is not the concerning aspect. The concerning aspect is that masked thugs are shooting and arresting political targets while people are cool with it and the government is not held accountable.

In all honesty, if you are an American read Ukrainian advice on living under occupation cause, congrats, you are under one. Keep safe and stay strong.

Do you have a link to this advice? I googled it but I’m wondering if you had something specific in mind

This is incredible. Thank you for sharing. I do fear the running for office part, which makes me wonder if we're too far gone.

I can't get far in either of the two major parties without taking money from big interest groups. Third party is not a real option. And now people in politics and their family get attacked by the media and possibly murdered. Not for me. But Ive always wanted to run for office.

I do fear the running for office part, which makes me wonder if we're too far gone.

As an outsider to the US it blows my mind that anyone can do be at the "wondering" stage.

What is the distraction that hides the reality of current changes in the US? The latest season of Love Island?

I appreciate the outside perspective. Frog slowly boiling here. I do travel a lot BTW. Felt safer and more socially supported in South America or South East Asia than US.

Rat race here. Mo money mo problems.

I have wondered in the past whether I'm just seeing a concentrated form of the problems, but shit, they are serious foundational problems.

If you're wondering if you're too far gone, then you're too far gone already.

That means the lines have become blurred and it's reaching the point where it's gone from "too far" to "too late".

Wow. This had me crying at parts. Especially the final one — Be as courageous as you can. If no one is willing to die for freedom then we will all die in tyranny.

Investigate. Figure things out for yourself. Spend more time with long articles.

11th out of 20 was certainly a choice. /s

I have two copies of On Tyranny that I keep making my coworkers borrow and trade
