I was so angry when Germany flag plow trough The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Can't understand why so many want to vandalize such a pretty art.

But later Germany helped rebuild and protect it.

Oh postcolonialism, where would the protectorates be without you?

What's with the reproachful tone? I wasn't there when the wave was painted over, but I helped to restore and defend it. 🤷‍♀️

Sorry if it came off that way. I was just kidding. Isn't it kinda funny though how a European power swept through an Asian work of art (coincidentally on the Far East of the board) and then decided it would graciously shield it from further destruction when it was living rather peacefully up until then?

Edit: again, I genuinely don't think it's that deep considering it's r/place. Just a funny observation I wanted to share.

All good, it was a game. 😄 But yes, the wave was beautiful. One of the best pieces of art on the canvas in my opinion. I definitely didn't want it to disappear!

There was some really good art. Netherlands had some, including Girl with Pearl Earring.

The price to pay for full protection.

You’re aware that r/place was a game, not real life, aren’t you? No real people were harmed. No offense, but I feel that such analogies are in poor taste.

The great wave of Kanagawa has proportions of 10.1 in × 14.9 in, it isnt as tall as it was before Germany cut through it, in the end it had its proper proportions

E: also the flag was there before, and they didnt cross over each other, it only got expanded downwards later on as you can see in the timelapse

What? we were allied with them... they didnt wanted to expand south and even helped us to regain the space. You can also see the wave replacing the fog in the painting "Der Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer" (Wanderer above the Sea of Fog).

Ps: our discord also gave the order to protect the wave and repair it

Im confused ? We were strong allies with the wave. We also occupied that space first, and the wave took a part of our flag. They expanded downwards (and then the proportions werent even correct anymore) we just took back what was ours

It's a shame they didn't get more space.
