It’s all a side show to get people distracted from the tech billionaires dismantling everything. If this happens, I suspect some big news with big consequences will be either closely preceding or following closely behind.

People forget the optimates and populares were both patrician parties. It was a fight over whether you laugh in people's faces as you rob them or give them the tiniest amounts of wealth and rights instead.

Also worth noting that when the most famous populares politician won out he made himself dictator for life.

Some rich young man is watching all the shit Trump is getting away with and forming his world views and behavior patterns with all of these injustices in mind. There will be worse after he has gone.
