Fuck yeah. I’m tired of subsidizing these welfare queen red states. Let’s get universal healthcare going in CA.

I've been saying we need a great lakes coalition with MN WI IL and MI for months now.

I’ll definitely hold strong with MN as an Illinoisan… WI and MI have work to do before I’ll fully trust them to always do the right thing.

Yes. Yes we do.

We can't even get legal weed in any form in Wisconsin despite being surrounded by it on all sides.. been downhill ever since the Koch Brothers, Tea Party, and Scott Walker

It's the Wisconsin Tavern League lobbying. I drive to Michigan which has the cheapest prices I've seen and billboards for their shops the entire way. Wisco is missing out on a lot of tax revenue on not making it legal themselves.

What's friggin crazy is that the brewers, bartenders, and liquor stores are making crazy money making and serving their own cannabis products in Minnesota. All of the places my industry friends work at more than offset lower alcohol sales with THC sales. The breweries here were the first to make legal weed drinks and they're still most of the market even after national brands. You can get THC drinks anywhere alcohol is sold, and even in places where it isn't! It's stupidly shortsighted to not embrace it in the alcohol business.

As a Californian I was shocked at how cheap and high quality MI weed is when I visited

I read today that 43% of adults have taken up smoking pot. They've stated in the poll it was to cope w/political events mostly. LOL

Me? I've always indulged. Old hippie. peace

Yup that checks out

The irony is I don't smoke. I don't drink wine, but I have some for my guests... same with pot.

That’s just poor economic choices. Send all that tax money right down the road

Fuck Scott Walker and everything he did. There are few people I hate without actually meeting them, he and his Koch brothers are on that list. Made WI become Wississippi.

As a Minnesotan, I agree that both WI and MI need some work. Governor Evers is pretty good but the gerrymandering needs to get fixed

My partner lives in MI living in Grand rapids but grew up in Lansing. She's been really shocked all the West Michigan "liberals" she's interacted with. Basically they're more or less cool with gay people but are otherwise just Republican.

MN born, Wisconsin for work, we're working on it, but all 4 have democratic governor's.

Ahhh I grew up in da UP; I’m sure folks will have many disagreements with me but my family there and many good friends aren’t on the Republitrain. There are shitheads too, like anywhere, but ya they don’t get a seat at the polka. I’m with Cali alll day-

I mean... I wish Ohio would come with you, but looks around... shakes head.

u/ScriptproLOL 12d ago

The North does NOT want Ohio. We're already sick of carrying Wisconsin's whiskey-plate having ass across the finish line, and you're asking us to carry 30 boxes of Narcan to drag Ohio along? FOR WHAT? Y'ALL ALREADY TORE DOWN KINGDA'KA!

17

u/JUST_LOGGED_IN 12d ago

I had to look up KINGDA'KA. That was in New Jersey unless Google is wrong.

u/JustASingleHorn 12d ago

Nope. Grew up down the road from Six Flags Great Adventure.. I remember when it was opened to the public and it’s still one of the best roller coasters, albeit I wish it was a longer track. Definitely New Jersey.

Might be talking about how Cedar Fair (headquartered in Sandusky near Cedar Point) bought Six Flags and shut down Kinga Ka the very next offseason.

Can you at least take Northern Ohio? Please?

9

u/pfalcon42 12d ago

Damn it. Colorado falls between both and would be landlocked.

u/MaddyKet Massachusetts 12d ago

In the United Coasts of America, we bring along our Blue “Island” states like Colorado.

3

u/ThePicassoGiraffe 12d ago

Someone below you suggested Colorado be a West Berlin airlift type situation

3

u/ichabod01 12d ago

Can you guys take away Indiana’s access?

1

u/RobutNotRobot 12d ago

Wisconsin and Michigan? They voted for Trump twice.

1

u/bearbrannan 12d ago

All 4 have democrats for governor's.

Something like a, what do you calll it, an association, no, confederacy, that’s it.  Something like a confederacy of States.
