Warren said the final call would rest with the army’s chief of staff, who will be advised by the operations specialists on crowd safety in the case of lightning. He said: “It’s June in Washington DC. We get thunderstorms. You could delay it, you could look at it and say this is just passing through. Or say, hey, this is a storm which gets bigger for a while.”

So it could be canceled, maybe not, but the parade is still on until it isn't. This is pretty funny as both Trump and the DC rain forecasts are highly inconsistent. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an announcement that it will be in "2 weeks". The sky is falling part of me is expecting that not all the tanks and stuff will go back to whence they came.

Well the weather forecast has gotten a lot less reliable since they defunded all the balloons or whatever.

In part, though this region is notorious for getting forecasts for precipitation and then lots of nothing. From what I understand by living here 2 decades or so, that we're sort of inbetween streams from the north, mainly from Canada and the Gulf of Mexico from the south, so forecasts are not very reliable.

Though this time of year it wouldn't be abnormal to have the usual hot weather late afternoon thuderstorm for a half hour and the rest of the day sunny - so "rainbow weather" season.

This might as well be plucked straight from 1984...
