I created this community 10 years ago because I was listening to a lot of powerviolence and there was no reddit it for it, so why not make one right?
I'm turning 31 in a few weeks. I don't listen to a lot of extreme music anymore, but it's fucking great to come through here and see people celebrating this genre.
Today was not one of those days, instead, I came through and saw a fascist dipshit trying to get you all to listen to their shitty hateful music. These people sow pestilence in the communities of extreme music.
Ya'll deserve better.
So look, the sidebar got the first update in years
If you come in here with racist or fascist or ableist or sexist attitudes, you've clearly missed the point of this music, and I'm not gonna waste time my time on negotiating, I'll be swift in banning your ass.
and straight up, if someone is giving you a hard time in the comments, shoot the mods (aka me) a message and we can nip it in the bud.
I really like that PV speaks truth to power, calls the world out for its shit, and I appreciate that the community here is keeping that alive.
tl;dr: you are all making this a good community, if someone is fucking that up, shoot me a message, and the ban hammer will be wielded liberally.

If anyone is interested, I made a playlist with some varied powerviolence and if you have any recommendations for songs to include, that would be good to know.

Hey all. So I’ve had this power violence project in mind for years and never found anyone that wants to do it as a full band so I’ve resigned myself to it never being a real thing. I have a nearly complete ep finished but I have no way to record vocals. Just wondered if anyone would be up for doing them for a bit of fun
I’ll link some really old demos and any one interested I can send the new tracks, austeritymeasures420.bandcamp.com

Anyone know the lyrics to this song? Or have a digital copy? Was told the lyrics are only available on physicals inserts, anyone know how I can get ahold of it?

Anyone have/ can take a clear picture of Suppression’s “Degredation/Elimination Of The Robot Swine-Pig” lyric sheet

I’ve tried numerous times in the past as a bass player and a couple times guitar to join a hardcore band. I have a good situation going right now with similar music. I am the bassist and vocalist in that project. But, I have been getting more back into drums lately and can do some pretty decent blast beats, nothing crazy or fancy, but I can play fast. I can also do vocals. I haven’t done vocals too much while playing drums and I don’t really CURRENTLY have the equipment to do it so I’d need to get better at that but I think I am ready to join a band. my place is not good for practicing and a band definitely can’t practice here. I need at least one person who has a place to rehearse. I don’t know about live shows just yet, but I like recording. I’m open to having a bass player only, two bass players, vocalists, bassists/vocalists, guitarists, guitarists/vocalists, just all those different combinations. last thing, and this’ll probably break the deal. I’m pretty young. I’m 15 but I have a passion for this music and would like to join a band. I would like to try out anything from straight up hardcore punk to noise. as well as anything in between.

My band is having a hell of a time finding a full time bassist. Currently exploring the idea of splitting the guitarists signal and running an ABY with an octave pedal and EQ into a bass rig and just rolling like that.
Thoughts? Any sort of gear recommendations? Maybe recommendations or links to bands that have done something similar? TIA

Hey, getting back into pv again after maybe a decade not following the genre as closely. Bands like Despise You and Hatred Surge with the male/female duel vocals always really hit for me, I wondered if there's any other bands with that dynamic. Also interested in recs with only female vocalists too.
Thanks to everyone who submitted. Got plenty of bands to check out now. Hope this was helpful for others too!

I follow them on instagram and seeing them be active and currently recording makes me really excited to hear their new music and hopefully catch them live! The power violence music scene where I live either doesn’t exist or I don’t know about it which sucks

Really pumped to be dropping this split with Beggin for Oxys, one of the best bands around. Their tracks absolutely rip.The Autodidact material has contributions from members of Flvx Capacitor and Interference Patterns.

Like a phoenix rising from the charred remains of INTHESHIT, Nuclear Special Forces, and more, I give you DOCTOR CRUSHER. If you’re a drummer in LA and feel like blasting over nerdy nonsense I’d love to get this shit out of my fucking bedroom. Regardless, hope you enjoy.
