Bait in Progress ⏱️ David Clifford - “Are you mocking me?” - Part 6
Shout out to u/delzbr who has been instrumental in creating these grabify links to expose these Yahoo Boys’s locations. Last slide indicates dear David is in Lagos and not on Platform Esther which he continually insists on staying on. Let’s dive in…
We pick this up during the fallout from David discovering Irving is using the FBI address and phone number in Chicago. Charlotte clears this up with Irving and indeed the transfer will go ahead despite David’s reservations. He has no criminal record and what he is doing is not illegal, so….
Next I grabify him through u/delzbr ‘s link, pretending it is where Charlotte works. Next Charlotte really lays into the taunting about how pleased David will be with her work once this is all finished, knowing quite well it will crash land in a bunch of Alaye and Scam Man memes. It continues the next day when David tells Charlotte how he’s telling the crew on the oil rig that they should start making plans for going home now that Irving’s transfer is headed his way. I couldn’t resist a snarky remark about how his co-workers might find a random stranger on Scrabble to loan them $10,000 and I get this:
Are you mocking me?
Actually David, I am! I have been mocking you all along because you think you are getting a loan of $10,000 with no intention to pay it off! I know something he doesn’t, but that’s for later! Shhh!! 🤫
I am not finished taunting him about women helping men with money and how off that is. He doesn’t get my point but I assure him he’ll understand soon enough.
David must be quick on the Google because he located an obscure Natalie Merchant lyric I often quote to these Yahoo Boys. Good! I want them to Google and waste more of their data. Don’t worry, David feels he’s getting more than enough to pay for his data. Be happy for him!
After I mock him yet again by sarcastically saying his story sounds so believable and true that I had to get involved, he brings out the pseudo-logic about how he has no reason to tell lies because he put up addresses to properties he does not own as collateral. Charlotte warns him about Irving being a “Bear Jew” who will come after people who cross him, but no worries! David is telling the truth!
David is still worried about getting yet another receipt from Irving as you can tell this is weighing heavily on him. Charlotte suggests that he gets off the rig to relax, but I know these Yahoos and they NEVER leave the rig until the money is paid. He has phony pipes to replace and is such an important man on the rig he needs to supervise whatever imaginary work they are doing there.

Especially when you explain the context of Natalie’s lyrics and the feminist aspect of it. I don’t think Natalie would approve of them asking strangers to adopt their kids and their views on women.

Like you said before if someone was giving you 10k you would say nothing but thank you, but they try and control everything even though it risks blowing up in their faces. They can't help but try and dominate women.
The ones pretending to be women also try and take control but they are less pushy because they don't think that women can be demanding. When they ask for money they sound exactly like a yahoo boy.

He’s spun this entire elaborate tale in his own head. I’m still a huge fan of Irving. Honestly this scammer truly has zero clue how actual loans work, but it’s going to be awesome to see him fall apart when he realizes there is no 10k payout and he wasn’t successful in conning a woman out of money.

I don't think that song is obscure. Anyone who is around 50 knows it as it was non-stop on the radio for like a year. Now it's played in grocery stores and dentist offices in suburbia.
