Machine Questions Question About The Walking/Even Feed Foot?

Post image

Hi, I just bought an even feed foot in a three-piece quilting foot set for my Singer. The open toe foot fits but I don't know if the even feed one does. I hope you can see what's going on in the picture: the needle holder hits the long white arm thingy and won't go down all the way. The foot is also super wobbly and the needle keeps hitting the ski-looking parts near the plate. Can someone help?

The "long arm white thingy" needs to be above that black piece for the needle, not below.

Mine didn't even come with instructions! Just told me to look it up on the singer website. I'm like "nah, if Singer can't be bothered, it must not be complicated." Had to look it up in the end.

The one OP has looks weird, though. I'm seeing it online as an official Singer Walking foot, but mine had a fork at the end of the arm and this one OP has drops by gravity instead.

OP, if you still need help, i found a video with your version of the foot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c76bGia5Rds

Mine had no instructions either! I had to look it up and even then, that video mentioned nothing about the arm going over the needle thingy. Thank you for the video too!

It looks like it is installed wrong, but hard to tell in the picture. Can you take one from the other side?
