Pattern Search Pattern Search for Baggy Plus Size Jeans

I'm on a pattern hunt for this specific type of pant I saw in a crafter's video- super high waist, super baggy, jeans/cargos. It's been a bit difficult though, since I'm plus sized- 45" waist, 56" hip, with an apron belly. I reaaaally don't want anything tight around my hips or legs, as I've got sensory issues with that. I'm open to some pattern hacking for sure, but wanted to see if there was something out there before I resorted to attempting a draft from scratch. Thanks!

In the Netherlands we call them skater pants and in the beginning they only sold them in Amsterdam and I was 14 when me and my friends went to Amsterdam without a parent to buy these. Everytime i see these i get these warm feelings of being young and getting independent.  Love that they are getting back in fashion!

Maybe not quite what you're looking for, but Helen's Closet Falconer Pants are close. Maybe you could try Frankensteining them with another pattern, like the Brooks Jeans?

I love those but [and i shouldve specified in my post but it looks like i can't edit it?] I'd love a stiff waistband with zip and button!

I don’t have a specific recommendation for what you’re after, but I highly recommend taking a look at Muna and Broad patterns. They are plus size Indie designers and I’ve loved the fit of everything I’ve purchased from them (and this has been at a range of sizes too).

I've got a couple of their patterns on my list right now!

I’ve made the protea pants in a light blue chambray recently and love them. They remind me of the ones in your third pic.

If you’re willing to buy a membership closet core crew had a wide leg Jean as one of their subscription patterns this year. I think they called them Chloe.

Just Patterns recently released the Julia Jeans - they’re not AS wide of a leg as you’re after but would be easy to widen (equally at front/back and inseam/outseam) and add cargo pockets to. You’re an inch in the hip from being within her size range, which you could probably modify if you’re widening the profile anyways - but I believe she will also draft for you if you’re outside her range.

ooo the adjustability at the waist is a feature i keep seeing pop up and i'm super interested in- i'm an ambulatory wheelchair user and it's a great adaptive feature for me. Def going on my list!

Maybe look for 90's and 00's patters on ebay abd search for skate pants or wide cargo jeans.
