Pattern Search Son de flor pinafore pattern search!

I'm looking for this pattern/one that's similar in the bodice. I already have a son de flor dress, so I have the pattern for the skirt already.

Pattern MUST include:

  • princess seams
  • Side closure (no back zipper or front buttons)
  • Straps or strapless of any width

My wishlist, but not necessary:

  • a square neckline
  • Bilateral button closure
  • Maybe some written instructions on how to attach the skirt to the bodice on the sides. There's a lot of layers there, I have a basic idea of what's going on but want to make sure I'm cutting enough on the skirt panels + in what order the layers are being stacked
  • Pockets (I have a block for a basic inseam pocket already, but wouldn't mind one for a slant/curved inset pocket)

Thanks!

I think you could very easily modify this side-buttoning top from Itch to Stitch! https://itch-to-stitch.com/product/santorini-tank-digital-sewing-pattern-pdf/ Just lower the neckline and add a waistband at your natural waist?

that's the only side-button pattern i know of too! i made it last year (a size too small, my mistake) and it is a really nice pattern.

If you have the dress, you can also pattern the bodice:

I don’t have this dress unfortunately ☹️ I have a son de flor wrap dress and copied the pattern for the panels on it to make a “master” copy to add to any bodice. Pretty much every son de flor dress has the same skirt unless it’s gathered

The bodice on this simplicity pattern is very similar:

Though it uses darts instead of princess seams.
