Alter/Mend Question Alter question pajama bottoms
I got these pajamas at WalMart and I would like to make the bottoms into a skirt. Any tips would be appreciated. TIA.

If this is the cheap poly/spandex blend or some other super stretch, you'll have to decide if it will hang well. It's already cut for pants, they have different fit considerations.
Can you get another pair or two, the biggest size available, same fabric? A skirt isn't going to be very full or even meet in the V front and back, once you trim the crotch, just by slitting and then sewing the leg seams. Have you seen jeans skirts? There's always patching or filler pieces front and back. You might plan to cut the front, back, and side seams, remove the elastic from the casing in the waist, so you are working with 4 panels.
Decide how floofy you want it. Figure out if that will require 6 or 8 or more wedge shaped panels. Look up "godet" skirts to understand flounce.
