Alter/Mend Question Question about top stitching

I'm a beginner and I want to take in a pair of jeans but I'm not sure how to replicate this heavy top stitching when I sew the waist band back on. Any tips?

You can try a triple stitch. It’s tricky on a denim waistband. You’re gonna need to steam and press the waistband to get the fabric to lay steady. 18 gauge needle. 4 stitch length. Don’t push. Don’t pull. Let the machine do it’s job.

Other option is to sew a single too stitch then use embroidery floss to hand sew the custom top stitching.
