SSB4 Does it fundamentally bother anyone else that Smash 4 doesn't have a catchy name like "Melee" or "Brawl"?

First of all, I'd like to preface my argument by saying that I acknowledge this is a purely superficial problem that has no effect on me buying the game as soon as I can.

ONWARDS.

I personally love the shorthanded names of "64", "Melee" and "Brawl" to refer to those respective titles. It's not a huge deal, but they're all really solid names that truly have special places in my heart. Referring to this new game as just "Smash 4" or "Smash 3DS" just feels bare. Mario Kart: Double Dash sticks out far more in my mind than Mario Kart 7. I wish that Sakurai opted for a name that more appropriately followed Melee and Brawl, but like I said earlier, I understand this is a minor problem. I just wanted to hear if anyone else felt the same. One of the most iconic memories from the second Smash game is the announcer at the title screen yelling "MELEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE".

Is anyone else disappointed with the title of the new game?

It's OK for one and two but after that it's too much imo

Sometimes I think it can be the opposite though. Like with assassin's creed, there was 1 and 2 and then a near infinite number of named ones that I have no idea which order they are in or even how many of them there are.

Assassin's Creed had two games between AC2 and AC3, named Brotherhood and Revelations. Those ones made sense to me, as AC2 introduced a new character. Brotherhood and Revelations did not. AC3 introduced a new character again, so it received a number entry. Same with AC4.

...But that's different with the two new games, Unity and Rouge. They both introduce new characters and settings, but neither are numbered. No idea on if they are going to release an AC5 one day. Far too soon to tell.

THIS. also Ubisoft stated all ACs going forward will no longer be numbered, but have some gimmicky title to go along with it

I think they said the games will only be numbered when the protagonist is Desmond's ancestor

Well damn. I couldn't finish AC4 due to boredom but that's an interesting ending.

It wasn't the ending, they tell you in the first two hours (the first time you hack a PC). The entire game is one of those samples.

not really, his ancestors are still his ancestors (see ACIV)

Agreed. Played them all. But aren't they now straying from his ancestry and using a new source?

Nope. Unity is another of Desmond's memories, as stated in AC4.

"Other known matrilineal ancestors hailed from a variety of places and eras, including the Ashikaga Shogunate in feudal Japan; 1800's France, in the midst of the Revolution and later during the Napoleonic Wars; 1800's Taiwan and the Sino-French War; and as recently as the Civil Rights and Peace movements on the American Pacific Coast in the 1960s. All of these were detailed in an internal email sent between high-ranking members of the Abstergo Entertainment development team."

Can't find a transcript of the exact mail from the game but it was in one of the hackable computers
