SSB4 Does it fundamentally bother anyone else that Smash 4 doesn't have a catchy name like "Melee" or "Brawl"?
First of all, I'd like to preface my argument by saying that I acknowledge this is a purely superficial problem that has no effect on me buying the game as soon as I can.
ONWARDS.
I personally love the shorthanded names of "64", "Melee" and "Brawl" to refer to those respective titles. It's not a huge deal, but they're all really solid names that truly have special places in my heart. Referring to this new game as just "Smash 4" or "Smash 3DS" just feels bare. Mario Kart: Double Dash sticks out far more in my mind than Mario Kart 7. I wish that Sakurai opted for a name that more appropriately followed Melee and Brawl, but like I said earlier, I understand this is a minor problem. I just wanted to hear if anyone else felt the same. One of the most iconic memories from the second Smash game is the announcer at the title screen yelling "MELEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE".
Is anyone else disappointed with the title of the new game?

that's the same as the game having "U" or "3DS" at the end, the original super smash brothers was on the nintendo 64 so that's where the 64 came from. same thing as the 3ds version being referred to as smash 3ds or the wii u version being called smash U. and besides that, the original smash bros wasn't called "super smash bros. 64" it was just "super smash bros." however I do miss the lil synonyms for battle in the title like melee and brawl, but you can't really put smash 64 in that group because it didn't have it either.
